Sooner or later he will have a howler, he's too young not to, will be interested to see how he reacts and how supporters react. Nobody has ever forgiven Rachubka for being human and having an off day (albeit a truly off day), nor Kiko (the clown) for that matter.
Goalkeepers are defined by their mistakes as much as the savers they make.
When you think of Gary Sprake, who was one of the best keepers we have ever had, you are more likely to think of him in terms of his disloyalty or the daisycutters going between his legs than the great saves or the clean sheets.
He has had a good start to his Leeds career but it's far too early.

2nd choice at Burnley behind tom pope. Several man of the match performances at international level.

I like meslier, he made a couple of great saves against sheff Utd. The rest, any keeper would have made, and that’s the thing with keepers. They have a game where every shot was just out of reach and they look average- then a spell when the strikers keep hitting them at a nice height.

He’s made a few mistakes in Liverpool and Fulham games, his distribution is generally very good but has been erratic. On the whole though he’s done very well... and for his age and experience he’s been a big plus .

Agree Germany. Reckon he's stepped up to the plate in an exceptional way. 20 years old, ffs, but yup, if he's good enough he's old enough - and he's keeping Casilla on the bench on merit. Last year there was some footage of him celebrating - I forget which game but it was a must-win and he was clearly made up and now Leeds through and through. The back line will only improve as he becomes more comfortable speaking English. He's producing some excellent reaction saves at important moments - from Grealish and McGinn on Friday and during the Fulham game, for example. Keeping a clean sheet at Villa in the first half set up that unstoppable second half Bielsablitz. I'm chuffed to bits with Meslier's performances so far.

I think we can now see why Bielsa wasn't making the keeper a priority in the market!..

He might have looked at some, but if he's happy with what he has than so am I!..

Its an odd one with keepers.

For some reason there has been this persistent idea that keeps dont mature and play their best until they get to be in their 30s.

In many ways its odd as nobody would question for a minute a 20 year old outfield player staring but people do when it's a keeper.

In regards to messlier...

He is doing a great job this far and his game has improved as he has gone along, im not saying has hasn't had great aspects to his game from the get go, however he seems to be working on, and improving on, things he need to.

His movement and diving has improved for example.

He could be our keeper for years to come

Milner scored in his first 2 games for Leeds, he was 16!..

With everything that's happened since Bielsa and his team have come in, praise must be thrown in their direction, it seems his set up and their work is the answer to everything we're now seeing!..

we can only assume bielsa has found the right bunch of players who all are on board with his ethos, no prima donna etc....and all willing to do what is expected

Think with the keepers it’s not that they get better in their 30’s it’s that they can still play top level long after an outfield player can.

But the getting better with age thing is two fold.

The main one is experience/judgement/ decision making... in a position where the main priority is not fcking up.

Two is a physicality thing in terms of coming for crosses, getting knocked about and blocked at corners etc. Some mature early, some a little later. So it’s variable but physical strength is less of an issue for a fleet footed winger than it is for a keeper.

Look at BPF, skinny runt for us, bulked up now (though suspect part if that was fat % target)
