When you take into consideration how fragile we have looked in the league, how the players are finding their way back to match fitness, having played midweek (both sides) it was somewhat expected it would possibly be a lethargic game.
That said the defense was strong, Chelsea created essentially nothing of danger and it was Mendy who had to make good saves against rashford twice, Fernandes and Mata with Cavani poking just wide and Thiago blocking his goal bound effort.
We controlled the game outside of a 15 minute spell in the first half when Chelsea just crab passed for possession.
Ole made positives subs early and tried to take the initiative, just like midweek, positives signs for his personal coaching development.
All in all, yes it was 2 points dropped but prior to Newcastle and PSG we would’ve taken this. Can’t discount the effect of 3 games in 7 days so early into this weird season.
The only criticism is Daniel James, offers nothing. If concerns were there around Cavani and Greenwood’s ability to play 90 then give them both a half. Irritating.

IMO, both Lampard and Solskjaer have many problems as managers, most of which stem from inexperience and being at clubs that are far too big for them at present. What I do believe is that Lampard is flawed from leaving us far too open at the back (yesterday not included) and Ole is far too negative.

Eric, the 4-0 game last season. I felt wasn’t a true reflection. Loved the result, but that was a strange game.
I just think in a short time, these 2 men have met each other, and now there’s a growing respect.
Doesn’t do us fans any good, cos we want to see, what we want to see.
But in this game, I felt Chelsea were very disciplined, worked very hard tracking back, doubling up, but still UTD had the better chances.
Didn’t like Ole’s team selection, but I believe he had to respect the potent Chelsea attack.
Chelsea have been free scoring, like Spurs. And Ole brilliantly nullified it.
But to my surprise Frank respected UTD’s attack, when really, he could’ve been braver, seeing James, Rashy and Mata as the attack.
Then with what 30 mins to go, both managers start to make, attacking subs, to win the game.
Unfortunately we didn’t get the goal, but Mendy was on fire. Had a really good game along with Silva.
Yes a dull game, but a good result overall, especially the start we’ve had.
It’s only October ffs!

Unfortunately, 2 points dropped is probably my main take away from the game despite a few positives (defensively).
