Letter to Mr Winks

Dear Mr Winks

Burnley up for us on Monday night.

As you ( should ) know, Burnley's main attacking strategy is to pump balls into the opposition area.

With this in mind, can I ask that you STOP GIVING AWAY CHEAP FREE KICKS at every opportunity in our half of the pitch.

It would be much appreciated if you could bear this in mind during this game.

In addition, whilst writing, can I ask that,if you have a chance to clear your lines in the last minute of injury time, that you put it in Row Z this time, rather than trying to be clever, like last time.

Thank you.

winks shouldn't be playing.... if spurs give a cheap free kick away you know its either winks, moura, sissoko, aurier or Sanchez.... its so so frustrating. Dier also gives them away but his is more clumsiness rather than pure stupidity.

Or Lamela - though it’s more tactical with him. Lamela should be one of the first names on the team sheet - he is the proper cant every team needs.

Imagine picking out winks when there’s far more players in the actual first 11 that do it more

You'd have to draft a fair few letters

I'd like to see Rodon start. He's comfortable at LCB at least

Lloris
Doherty Toby Rodon Reguilón
GLC PEH Ndombele
Bergwijn Kane Son

Bench: Hart, Aurier, Davies, Sissoko, Dele, Bale, Vinicius
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes I am sure Jose is going to plunge a young CB into a game like this, when he hasn`t played a minute for Spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He could do worse than to try it Sandy, Rodon is an aerial monster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He may well be. But he hasn`t played a minute of football yet for Spurs, so hardly likely to be thrown in at Burnley, when all the other CBs are fit. If he is as good as you make out then then may get a start in Antwerp on Thursday.

Lot of talk of the predicted line-up against Burnley being:

Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Regulion, Sissoko, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Son, Lucas, Kane.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes that would be my expected line up as well.

Dier is a doubt still i think and Tanganga is still injured. So they're not all fit.

Agreed. he is at least a bit tactical with his fouling. Winks on the other hand, just dives in without any thought for where he is on the pitch. Facking liability and am sick of it.

Winks confidence has gone and I now see a player now who plays with fear and doesn't have much confidence in himself.

Unfortunately fans have short memories and the Winks that burst on the scene in the early days was confident on the ball, forward thinking and not afraid to receive the ball in tight areas. The Winks of today is even scared to turn when the ball is played to him of out defence. I shudder now when a ball is played to him and there are opposition players close by.Dele said a few years ago if he could take away something from Winks it would be Winks passing ability.

The Winks of 2 years ago is sadly no more and a shadow of his former self.

----------

hes still young... might have to go to a mid table team to thrive (like Andros townsend)

no disgrace in that, and i would happily keep him around as a squad man, but he needs to play with his brain a bit more.
