We are in huge trouble

The warning signs have been there since the West Ham game and we’ve finally paid for it.

We are completely clueless going forward and I really don’t see how that’s going to change.

Lacazette is finished. No pace, no movement, extremely wasteful in front of goal. Seems more likely to get sent off than score.

Auba has been useless on the left all season so Arteta decides to play him on the right, where he was even worse. Who would think we paid all that money to keep him at the club just to play him out of position. I literally can’t think of a single good chance Auba has had to score this season.

Willian, maybe too early to write him off but I never wanted him and he’s done nothing to suggest I was wrong about that. As woeful as we were tonight, we still didn’t miss him. Pepe, not even going to waste time talking about this joker. Finally Eddie - lol. Can’t get into a Championship side and is expected to score goals for us. That being said Leeds look a far better attacking side than us so it’s easy to see why he wasn’t playing for them.

But our attacking impotence is far more deep rooted than a poor selection of attacking players. We were actually half decent in the first half but as soon as Luiz got injured we were completely lost for ideas. It says a lot when your most creative player is a 33 year old CB. We were horrendous after his injury.

We are in desperate need of a player in the mould of Cazorla, Rosicky or even Hleb, players that you would associate with Arsenal, who play quick incisive high tempo passing football. Yes Partey is a great signing but said it at the time, he was never going to solve our creative deficiencies. Now we have to somehow grind through to the January transfer window and pray that a player like that will become available. The likelihood is that player won’t become available and even if he did, it would most likely be too late to salvage anything in terms of a successful league campaign.

We are in for a very long and mindnumbing season. Let’s hope we can bore teams to death in the Europa.

Why do people think that Auba would look better centrally is beyond me. The way we are playing we isolate every CF no matter who is playing there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he’s a striker. It’s not rocket science. Not saying playing him at CF is going to transform us into an attacking juggernaut but he’s surely a better option than Laca or Eddie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? The way we are playing right now he wouldnt see the ball. Simple as that.

Auba would be ineffective centrally also.

He can't hold up play and the fact that the ball would never get to him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worse than Laca??

Who apart from scoring 3 tap in, in our first 3 games has missed chance after chance.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well if you are happy with Auba it's up to you. I am not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who said they are happy with Auba seriously no need for stupid baseless comments

GT is your thought process actually that limited. By your logic prime Messi or a Ronaldo would be useless for us

The main problem is our forwards are significantly below par. Laca has been on horrible form since he won player of the season 2 seasons ago. Auba has lost form since being shunted out onto the wing for an incompetent Lacazette. Nketiah is useless. Willian is non existent. The less said about Pepe the better.

Even with our lack of creativity, we are creating SOME chances. However none of them are being put away and that is going to keep killing us until we can start converting chances again. We’re only 5/6 games into the season and Laca already has a highlight reel of gilt edged chances missed. It’s just not good enough.

Says it all.

But the silver lining is that we know arteta can play a different style more exciting,we saw it earlier in the season.

But he still has to learn about his team probably and how he wants to play as a manager. He never got to learn in lower leagues or youth football so he still has to try things out now a top level,so lest just give him a minute to get it all right.

When did we see this style?

Partey AMN Xhaka
Saka Auba Nelson

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No way at all should Partey, Saka or Auba play on Thursday with a trip to Old Trafford coming up this Weekend.

Auba has been playing poorly and looks tired, should be left out of the squad for this match entirely. Partey possibly on the bench, Saka picked up a knock against Leicester and is currently being overplayed - should be rested too.

Let Laca slave away again, he needs it for his fitness and confidence, Nketiah should start too along with some of our other youth/reserves.

Seriously, if Arteta starts Saka and/or Auba on Thursday then I might lose all faith in his intelligence and abilities to keep us progressing in the right direction.
