Spurs go into tonight`s game at Burnley

with a 100 per away record in three different competitions. Reasonably tough start to the season as well with trips to United, Estonia and Bulgaria, Everton, the league leaders, plus London derbies with Chelsea and West Ham, yet have remained undefeated since the first game of the season.

Starting this evening, I expect in two or three games Spurs will be top or close to the top of the Prem, and from what I have seen of the rest of the Prem over the weekend, very little for Spurs to worry about. So many teams much of a muchness, some capable of nicking results, but no team from what I have seen is really blowing away the opposition. Spurs, have already had two of the biggest victories in the Prem this season, 5-2 at Southampton, 6-1 at United. Only Villa with their 7-2 tonking of Liverpool come close to Spurs. Most of the other games are like whoever nicks it on the day or the night.

Spurs with the best squad in the Prem, should now be going into overdrive, and building up to maximum speed for the games in late November, early December, although frankly with Spurs strength in depth, are games against City, Liverpool and Chelsea anything to worry about. None of them are exactly bombing along, and I expect Spurs to beat all three at least once this season, some probably twice. Oh and Arsenal, how poor are they, one man team, and he has downed tools, now he has his big payrise.

I am not expecting Spurs to lose more than three or four Prem games max all season, so with the Everton loss put well behind Spurs now, I expect no more than a couple of set backs in the Prem from hereonin. I think I can live with that. Although the way the Prem is shaping up this season, several losses and Spurs should still take the title. The Prem is filled up with inconsistent teams this season.

My team for tonight, and prediction

Lloris
Aurier
Toby
Dier
Reguilion
PEH
N`dombele
Lo Celso
Moura
Son
Kane

4-0 Kane 2, Son 1, Lo Celso

Spurs are scoring goals for fun, and I may have been a bit conservative with my scoreline.

Oh and the odd on Spurs are plummeting now. 9/1 down from the 50/1 from just a few weeks back.

I admire your optimism Sandy, however as Jose said, we’ve been playing so well, but only have 8 points on the board. We’re a good side, but nothing can be taken as a given anymore and as we know, Spurs often fail to capitalise on our rival’s lack of points, or gift poor performing teams a much needed win - so for me its a close 2-1 win to Spurs. We’ll be comfortably 2-0 up for 80 mins, concede a silly goal and have a nervous finish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the dropped points are out of the way for the season. Both fluke last minute goals, after Spurs were dominate in both games. These things happen from time to time. No big deal. Done and dusted now. We move on. Opposition will not always get that lucky against Spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of last minute goals aren't a fluke. It's because you don't have the mental fortitude to close games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well they are really, nobody could blame Spurs for not seeing the game out against Newcastle when the ref and VAR combined to shaft Spurs, and the West Ham last kick of the game goal was a complete fluke of a shot, that would usually end up in row Z. Nothing to do with not closing down games at all. It happens like that in football sometimes. Didn`t Liverpool concede three late goals to get dumped out of the CL last season, when it was almost impossible to lose that game. Are you also questioning their mental fortitude to close down games.

We have the mental fortitude to not concede 7 goals though

Three competitions.....are you including the Leyton Orient result as an away win? Stretching it a bit maybe!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don`t think I mentioned Orient did I? I didn`t have to, Spurs have won every other away game they have played this season. So not sure of your point mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you said 100% away record in three competitions, but by my count we've only played away fixtures in two competitions so far haven't we?

I'm totally open to being corrected on that though, I may have it wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Orient was away, and whilst the game was not played. Spurs were actually given that game, so technically that was an away win.

So I think I am correct that Spurs are undefeated and have a 100 per cent record in three different competitions away from home this season.

That’s reaching quite a bit tho Sandy.

Our Europa opponents have been poor by and large but those away games were tricky ties due to it being the other sides cup final, dodgy pitches and long travelling times.

In the PL we seem far more suited to away from home if sides try to take the game to us, our pace on the counter is utterly lethal.

Spurs are hardly likely to be playing Barca or Bayern in Europa qualifiers are they? They have beaten every team put in front of them. Surely that is all they can do.

We were winning 2-1, but were heading out on away goals so had to go all out attack which led to us conceding another 2 goals on the counter.

You can't seriously be comparing that to being 3-0 up in the 81st minute and drawing 3-3.
