Now that the dust has settled on

yet another away win, and another three points towards the title. Remember when Spurs couldn`t buy an away win for nine months, now they are coming along like every nine days.

Would not have been my preferred line up last night, and when I saw it I knew my 4-0 prediction would probably be in the bin. That said I 100 per cent trust Jose to get it right, and last night he did that again. Three points was the order of the day, so no complaints from me.

Spurs at the moment look like an unstoppable juggernault, able to switch personnel, still get results, not once a week, but twice a week. Sometimes it will be champagne football, Southampton and Manchester United, other times it will be just digging out results, Chelsea (Carabou Cup) and Burnley. It is what Champions elect do.

Jose has moved up the squad up a few notches in the near on 12 months he has been at the club, and it shows. No more rolling over at places like Burnley or Old Trafford. Get the job done, whatever it takes. None of this one competition at a time malarky, able to compete in multiple competitions, with the minimum of fuss.

Another away game Thursday, and again it holds no fears. Spurs can put out a completely different XI and I would still expect victory, such is the depth of their squad. Amusing also how so many pundits are still refusing to say Spurs can win the title, when they think teams like Everton are in with a shout.

Bookies are running for cover now, Spurs price for the title has plunged into 6/1. The wise on the board would have taken the 50/1 on offer of just a few weeks back. Unthinkable that they were offering 50/1, when the two best strikers in the league play for Spurs. But hey ho, I think they have finally woken up.

Right here`s to another win on Thursday, then onwards to six points off of Brighton and WBA, and should be top of the table when welcoming Man City to WHL.

What did we make of Joe Rodon’s debut? Didn’t put a foot wrong.

I was going to ask that. When he came on, I wanted to see how it adjusts to the pace. In the end, I didn't even notice him, which is good in my view.
A strong lad, and one for Burnleys of this world I think.

Toby and Dier showed up a partnership of solid and forward thinking defense - always looked to feed the front players.
I think the balance is just right with Moura/Lamela. Neither can do a full match, so Moura starts and Lamela finishes the game, and collectively they had something.

Son and Kane, best the double act since Batman and Robin, surely?

Deadly duo and form a great partnership

Kane should be rested against the Austrians, though and Vinicius should be a starter

A good three points either way, it's a bit gutting to think what would be had we not had that dodgy penalty vs Newcastle and the West Ham meltdown.

Sandy, why do you have to deal extremes the whole time.

Yes we may end up in a title challenge but dont go OTT.

Yes we are in good form and looking strong but No, we are not a juggernaut.

You are right though that the character to win away, to dig in, to turn around positions like vs Chelsea is a very welcome addition.

I did a piece recently about pragmatic Jose, and last night was the perfect example. We knew what was coming so Jose took the decision to go with probably the biggest XI we could manage. Style suffered but we did ok and controlled it much more 2nd half.

Also liked his subs, again. I can understand the selection of Lucas, a fast agile player who will run at teams and break lines which is helpful against packed defences. He was not effective so Lamela came on...again a skillful player who makes space and creates without relying on speed....so it wasnt just more of the same if Bale came on.

Some don't like the style last night but the same people moan that its all about trophies now. Clearly 3 points not good enough for some.

I was very impressed with him. A clean sheet to start off with. His walk onto the pitch was about as good as it gets.

Good ol sandy, I actually enjoy his optimism.

But seriously, good result but Davies is a worry. He destroys any dynamism to our team as a left back.

Dier and Alderweireld work well against slow Centre forwards but one needs to go when we face pacier attacks.

I wasn't particularly joyous when the team was announced last night as I'm not convinced of the talents of Davies and Doherty. Saying that, they are both tall, strong, battlers and didn't give Burnley much in terms of space to operate in the wide areas. Reguillon and Aurier are clearly better going forward but the space they leave would have been kamikaze against a Burnley side that rely on crosses into the box. Jose defo got it right, even if it did stifle our attacking abilities.

Must be a lot of dust around where you are sandy !

I am doing extremes mate. I tipped Spurs for the title before a ball has been kicked, so merely following that up throughout the season.

Yeh Davies and Doherty are squad players at best. Neither good enough to be regulars. I think that was the problem last night, both were very poor, and nothing good was coming from either one of them. Expect Jose to have learnt his lesson, and revert back to Serge and Reguilion.
