When the pundits are asked if Spurs

can win the league this season, they usually say, I think they have a good side but I don`t think they can win the league. Fair enough.

Then when they are asked why they do not think Spurs can win the league, they to a man or woman, always go er, er um, er I think er, er um, then the first thing they come up with his ah the defence it leaks goals, not tight enough at the back. Honestly they don`t know their arris from their elbows. I think currently Spurs have the second best defensive record in the division. They then go on to waffle about Liverpool and Man City, although one of those teams has the current joint worse defence in the league this season.

Why do they just parrot the some regugitated nonsense all the time. It is very poor journalism.

Spurs have as good a chance as any of winning the title. They are scoring the most goals, and are conceeding practically the least. A combination that usually wins titles.

Right that`s my articles done early for the day.

Pundits are like sheep. They just say what the crowd would say. Of the 30 or so "experts" that made their league predictions this season, not one of them put Spurs in the top 4.

To a man ( exception being Waddle who said Utd ) they all went with the total lack of imagination choices of Liverpool and City, with Chelsea mainly 3rd, simply because they spent a shed load of money.

I mean, how many of them wrote these out while getting dressed that morning. Let's face it a 3 year old could have come up with the same predictions.

The annoying thing is, as illustrated last night, their all programmed to "stick to the script" and won't every actually admit that this team or that team actually do have a chance.

On a footnote, is it really worth asking Carragher, who will never look past Liverpool. Neville is another story, whilst he would never tip Spurs, he can't very well pick Utd can he.

I don’t know if you’ll win the league - though with the manager and players you have it’s far from impossible

Your game with Burnley was impressive. Not the actual performance but more that you could say you didn’t deserve to win and still won anyway. You actually won back some of the points you lost in the Newcastle and West Ham games.

That’s how you win titles. Getting over disappointments where you did deserve to win games by putting in a gloriously ugly performance and still getting the 3 points.

Mentality... the players still struggle with it. For every Burnley away there’s a West Ham at home

Same can be said of Liverpool who got thrashed 7-2

I think and I am not talking about the useless tosspots who made a name playing something vaguely resembling football involving scything down players, but there are good pundits and they hesitate to say Spurs are title chases because you have to remember that Tottenham are in transition phase and only last season, we were struggling and at the start of the season some of them didn;t have Spurs as top4, but have since re-adjusted this view.

However, in general, it takes 2 solid years of a team performing at the highest level to take it up a notch. That's a theory.

However, Leicester destroyed that theory when they wen from relegation fodders to winning the title in back to back seasons.

That's why talk of Liverpool have 40 points swing on others is total nonsense.

Leicester showed it doesn't exist.

Imo, best to stay under the radar, and the less they talk about it the better for the team.

Agreed mate, always best to stay under the radar.

As if I would boast about Spurs winning the league.

Honestly it's not beyond the realms of possibility for Spurs to win the league this year. Events seem to be conspiring in favour of a non-standard top 6, certainly, and Spurs could take advantage with a fair wind.

Still don't think they will, mind you, but stranger things have happened.

Thought it was dumb when Neville said he didn't think we could because we hadn't before. Every team that has won it hadn't done so before they won it their first time.

That`s the problem with biased pundits affiliated to rival clubs, they can just not bring themselves to say Spurs can win the league, for fear of creating a positive spin around Spurs and thus harming the chances of their own favourite clubs in the process.

Harry Redknapp fancies we can have a go at the title but his biased mug of a son would not agree. I would wager Harry knows more than son Jamie, and does not have the interests of Pool to help protect.
