A New found Hunger

I know that a lot of our fans still buy into the Spursy phenomenon and negatively dismiss our recent unbeaten run by saying the fixtures have been easy. But I have noticed a real hunger and determination from the team that has been lacking in recent years.

We all know Son is a great player, but I remember noting how upset he was when the right ball wasn't played to him in our EL game against LASK last week to put him through on goal. He just wants to score badly and isn't prepared to rest on his laurels.

Kane's desire to score is well known but he is really a complete team player now. In fact captain material. The defensive blocks and clearances recently have been invaluable for us.

Hojbjerg has been immense in midfield and he shows real desire which undoubtedly rubs off on those around him.

I'm not Dier's biggest fan, but I have to give him (and Toby) credit for dealing with the physicality of Burnley's players last night.

Lloris is no longer captain calamity....and hasn't been for a while now. He is the epitome of calmness and solidity. Him coming out and claiming some of those corners last night was immense.

So that's right down the spine of our team and notable mentions could easily be made for Ndombele, Reguilon and others.

I absolutely did not mind that we won last night's game without being as expansive as we have been recently. There is no way that a team can achieve a trophy by simply playing exciting entertaining football the whole time. There will be times when a team has to dig out a result and that's exactly what we did last night.

I really do think we're on the cusp on achieving something special this season and most of the credit must go to the manager.

the way the game went i was expecting us to lose 1-0, so i was impressed with how we ground it out.

good to be positive op just not in a over the top sandy type view that your team can do no wrong and everyone else is lucky.
last game was definitely not something i would list as an example that shows you could compete for the league.
you had not registered a shot on goal until after the hour mark against probably the worst team in the league.
i think you've bought well the last couple of windows i wouldn't have much faith in jose getting the best out of them though.

This.

Spurs fans are absurd, if we win a game we’re title contenders or “on the cusp”

if we lose or draw it’s the end of the world.

I’m happy we won, but you point out the football was a bit on the ropey side and you’re accused of not being a Spurs fan.

It's because you throw your toys out of the pram constantly. I don't know where you get all these toys from tbh!

For anyone that says we should not get carried away, I totally agree.

For anyone that says that it's foolish to point out any positives as the season progresses, then I completely disagree.

Are we only allowed to moan during the season? That's not what I call support.

The 3 points last night have clearly wound a few Spurs fans up

There’s nothing wrong with a drab 1-0 win away to Burnley, in fact if you look at our past 9 or 10 games against them - only 1 has resulted in the absolute thrashing some of our fans think we’re entitled to, which was actually under Mourinho (5-0).

The rest? We’ve lost 2-1, drawn a few (even at home) and won a few. I’ll take a 1-0 away win all day long.

I think most of us are happy with the three points. It is only posters like Sizzle that won't let the last manager go, and hates it when Spurs win ugly, or for that matter, any win, under Jose. To ge honest I think he needs some help.
