Bolton Wanderers v Bradford City

After a couple of encouraging away results it's back to the unibol where Bolton have a terrible home record this season with 5 defeats and 1 draw including a defeat by Bradford on the first day of the season. Still no crowds allowed and an early kick off 7pm. Personally its getting to me watching low resolution one camera angle pictures with a terrible commentary on a 32 inch telly rather than being in the ground. No light at the end of the tunnel either with a 4th tier of restrictions mentioned this morning. Team news. Owen doyle added to the sick and lame list I mentioned in Saturday's thread, keeper Billy crellin is expected to keep his place as the only keeper in the matchday squad.

So Leyton Orient away on Saturday. They are three points in front of us. No game is going to be easy as we are definitely not the finished article by any means but can we get a result? I think that we can but we will need to be at the top of our game.

Golden, Crellin still has a way to go before he gets my vote of confidence. The penalty save was a good way to get his confidence back and to get the fans onside. Let's hope our goalkeeper coach can help him out and he continues to improve.

Swie, I have always said, a loan goalkeeper who goes back to his own club, at the end of the season, regardless of wether we get promotion or not,
Is a very risky gamble anyway.

I can't work the goal keeper situation out it's a if LSD is making a comeback it's weird.
We could have a punt on Crellin going back at the end of the season and Alexander replacing him as number one then IE saying that was part of his master plan all along.
What are the odds ? I'll risk 20p of my iFollow refund on it.

The question must be, where have you been? Still, it's good to see you back. I hope that you decide to spend more time with us.

Golden, sometimes loans can be good for a team we have had some good ones in the past. What I don't get is why we have an inexperienced goalkeeper on loan. The keeper in any team is a pivotal player who needs experience. I'm sure that we could have found a better keeper to fill our short term needs.

Pasty, It a problem with our own young keeper not getting a game, never mind not even being on the bench. What he needs is game time, either at Bolton or out on loan. Unless things change, he will probably be worse off at the beginning of next season. In my opinion, we will need to sign another experienced keeper.

Kioso is a good loan, better than what we had, improved the side. Less so the other 2.

So I've been looking at the sums in the Ben and come up with
XG x GG = GF
where xg = expected goals
gg = granny goals as in goals my gran could have scored
gf = goal feast

So that's your conclusion? No such thing as an expected goal if you have a load of duffers who couldn't hit a barn door. Fortunately, we seem to be moving in the right and although goals aren't yet at a premium we are knocking the odd one in. Granny goals were for Doyle to sit on the line and knock them in. Unfortunately, he will probably be out for a couple of weeks yet. The nearest we have had to a goal-fest was when we drew 3-3.

Let's hope that we have one of our own tomorrow at Leyton Orient.
