And I'm back.........media ( again )

These people make me sick with their pathetic, uneducated paper selling headlines.

The Mirror go with the headline "Antwerps" in big bold coloured letters.

The Telegraph has to make the point of a main headline picture of all the Antwerp players celebrating.

By comparison one of the little favorites, Arsenal get a load of positive headlines with Arteta this and Arteta that for beating a team that would just about survive in League One. Arsenal being the team who could just have easily lost their first group game by the same score, they were that bad in that game.

Whilst disappointing, the fact is Antwerp are the best team in Belgium and unlike many others in this competition, played their recognised first team. We made 9 changes, 9 F*S.

Last time I looked, Belgium were the number one ranked nation in Europe at international level, compared with Northern Ireland, who are........33rd.

This not in my imagination. The fact is the Media have a thing for Spurs, and have been going after them for a few years now.

These headlines are disrespectful to both Spurs and Royal Antwerp, who did play well.

Their headlines imply a major giant killing on the same level as, say Orient ( no disrespect ) winning the FA Cup against City. The truth is far from that. The best team in Belgium vs the reserves of one of the better teams ( but certainly nowhere near the best ) in the PL is not a giant killing, as implied.

I know they can't, but if it were possible, and I was Levy, I would be on the phone to my expensive legal team to sue them for as much damages as I could get.

What did Spurs do to the media to cause this? Bang the media's missus or what?

Having now watched the match, I think it is probable that Davies was fouled by being pushed in the back.
And maybe their goal should have been disallowed.

That said, I cannot find any Spurs player that played well. Bale continues to be a ponderous disappointment.

There is so much wrong with this article

On what basis are Antwerp the best team in Belgium. They finished 4th last season, 17 points behind the winners Brugge. They are currently leading Brugge by a point after 10 games. By the OP’s logic, Everton, AC Milan, Real Sociedad and Leipzig are all the best teams in their respective countries.

Secondly, reserves lol. Lloris, Aurier, Reguilon, Sanchez, Lo Celso and Bale are all reserves now are they? And should we ignore that more reserves like Hojberg, Lucas, and Son came on at half time, and Kane not long after?

Thirdly you are imagining things actually because Dundalk are from Ireland, not Northern Ireland, and since when does the coefficients of the national team have any bearing on how good the clubs in the country are

Finally the way Spurs fans have bigged up their team, this is 100% a massive giant killing. All we hear about Spurs is what incredible squad depth they have, yet you couldn’t muster a single shot on target in nearly 80 minutes of football against a club that was only promoted to the Belgian top league 3 years ago and only previous experience of Europa League football was getting battered in the qualifiers last season.

Steve you are a complete mess

Ok, well perhaps you can tell me how there is no media slant this morning, with the BBC having no less than 5 separate articles on an even bigger favorite, Liverpool, with no more than one article on everyone else that played yesterday ???

Easy. We're the reigning champions, and one of our most important players suffered a season-ending injury which provided a forgotten man who had never played in the PL for us with an opportunity to play, having looked certain to leave in the transfer window. He proceeded to have a great game and was named man of the match in a game that we came from behind to win with a late goal to take us top of the league, despite having conceded the most goals in the division.

5 articles is a slight exaggeration when there’s actually only 2. One about Phillips who made his PL debut and won man of the match. The other is the match report

Come on Steve.
