Hamza Choudhury

What a performance from big Hamza yesterday.

Best in a Leicester shirt.

Absolutely bossed the midfield.

I've been worried about Hamza recently, fearful that he won't "make it" at this level, and I remained fearful of that in the first minute or so when he wasn't looking for a pass he received. Indeed, that's something he clearly still needs to work on.

But definitely more of the same of what we saw last night, please. We know he's aggressive in the tackle, but his judgement was definitely improved - when to go, when to sit, not switching off and spotting the danger at the back post when momentarily switching with Albrighton. I know they unfurled the white flag in the second half but that was the most encouraging performance from Hamza in quite some time.

Hmmmmm, I’m not so sure. I still saw the same issues of switching off at key moments, and misjudging passes and when the ball will reach him or be intercepted.

Yes it was improved, but I still think he has a long way to go to compete with Mendy and Ndidi (what credit the Mendy that I’m saying that!).

For me, Chouhudry remains plan B when we are chasing a game. He’s more box to box than Ndidi and Mendy, and has a very good shot on him. He needs to watch Tielemans every day in training and try to learn game intelligence from him.

That said, it was definitely improved and his tackling at times was an art form last night. There’s no denying he’s got something there.
