how long is .........

.............. the arm on a t shirt?

posted on 7/11/20

it's a valid question, cos if the ball hits the bottom of the sleeve length and goes in the goal, where is it stated that 1cm of the ball did not hit the illegal side of the sleeve line?

Ok, getting serious now, yes I 100% agree - the current regulations on hand-ball and also off-side are bloomin' crazy!

Apparently the Tshirt/arm rule is for offside only and doesn't count for offside?

Offside position

It is not an offence to be in an offside position.

A player is in an offside position if:
any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and
any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
The hands and arms of all players, including the goalkeepers, are not considered.
A player is not in an offside position if level with the:
second-last opponent or
last two opponents
That's from the FA Website

You mean goal scoring only?

The rules for offside are stupid.

So make it simple.

You are offside if your feet are in front (it’s football after all).

If your feet are onside but another part of your body is offside then disallow the goal if you score with that part of the body (as you have had an advantage).

Exactly if Bamford had scored with the t-shirt arm that was supposedly offside then fair enough but his foot that scored was well onside. The arbittraitors of our beautiful game are a bunch of c u next Tuesdays and have no footballing soul or common sense.
