Between now and January he will stand down for a week citing health grounds, VP Spence will issue a pardon for any crimes that he and his family committed during his time in office, he will then pardon all his other cronies.

I can't help but feel that the work DT's party did reforming the US legal system might just save him. There's a decent story in the FT about how he's got the supreme court rigged at 6-3 in favour of Republicans and he appointed hundreds more judges filling umpteen vacant posts in a similar way leaving the system heavily skewed. This will surely be the legacy he will leave behind.
