As the season progresses, the more confident I am it is Spurs title this season. Have seen nothing from any other side, that remotely has me worried. Lots of inconsistent workmanlike sides. None have the attack or defence for that matter, that Spurs possess.

Can we ban international football ? Just abolish the thing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It baffles me that the clubs in Europes top leagues haven't got together and refused to allow players to go on International duty.

With the fixture congestion and the Covid its fackin nuts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm pretty sure players get banned from domestic football if they refuse even a call up, when fit.

I'm pretty sure I remember a case, forget the player, that risked being banned in the league for refusing a call up...despite retiring from international football πŸ˜…

I'm sure a player could say I refuse to play for my country but good luck to them when they return home.

What on earth could FIFA/UEFA do if all the clubs in the top leagues in Europe said these are our paid employees and they are going nowhere?

I have no problem with International footie in the summer but the season shouldn't be interrupted for these wretched breaks and of course if we didn't have the breaks that would allow for an earlier Prem finish.

I'm pretty sure FIFA has rules about clubs having to release their players to internationals. Obviously there's ways around it, but you have to consider that many players will want to play for their country. So you'd have to deal with FIFA and an unhappy player.

I'm not sure with Covid if this should apply though, certainly I'd hope that individuals are being given the choice to not go abroad if they don't want to.

The problem I think is mainly that even in England, where most fans pefer the PL, fans from rival teams would make it almost unbearable if a player was seen to turn his back on his country.

In other parts of the world just the idea of turning down a call up would mean never going back home. I get it isn't the same standard or spectacle outside the big tournies but international football is still realising a dream for 99%, despite what fans think unfortunately.

I hate watching England tbh. I'm thankfully not a role model though
