Thought it was a great performance yesterday, spot on tactics from Jose and another Kane masterclass. Dier was MOTM for me.

Sure it wasn't magnificent, free flowing attacking football tearing City a new one, had we tried that we'd probably lose by 5 or 6 goals.

Still early days, only a quarter of the season gone, but we're top of the table, beaten both Manchester teams, and only lost 1 game all season. This time last year we were languishing in 14th and in relegation form.

I agree Eric was MOTM and Kane was a good form, but it was still a pretty drab affair.

Yesterday was our first proper test, and we came through with a clean sheet(!!!!), 3 points and top of the league.
Next week at Stamford Bridge will be the real test

They don't give trophies in November no but you have to well placed in the table to have any chance of it?

Spurs were written off for champions league places remember?

Also you were saying Spurs haven't played anyone of note, though we had beaten United and Chelsea.

Now that we've also beaten City, you've gone quiet on that front?

I said that and it was 100% true at the time - the only side of note we had played in the league was United away who had been reduced to 10 men and only won their first home game of the season last night.

You can’t count beating Chelsea on penalties in the cup as we cannot garner 3 points that way in the league.

Looking at it now, next week is the acid test. If we come through that with 3 points then we will be fighting for the title. We have a very good record against City especially since Pep came in as he seems to set them up perfectly for us to play against, so I can’t get too carried away by yesterday.

Beat Chelsea and I will start to believe.

Interestingly, we were on more points than we are now after 9 games a couple of seasons ago.

I imagine this is quite a low leading total for this point of the season, especially in recent times.

Chelsea next week at Stamford Bridge, now that should be a real game !

would have been nice to have been there .

The real test is when the reverse fixtures are played from january until may.

Funny that teams who are not top always play that card. The reverse argument of that is the likes of City, Utd and Arsenal could be in an even worse position come January to May. After all the same number of games are played by every team aren't they ?
