Problems bigger off the pitch

It looks like Arteta has started to lose dressing room. Since new season started here are things that happened in dressing room:
-Mesut Ozil left out of squad, for sure it had influence on other players also
-Guendouzi left out, without explanation
-Ceballos vs Nketiah
-Ceballos vs Luiz, and the thing with this is someone leaked it, so 2 problems here
-Willian trip to Dubai, not being punished, starts again even after that, double standards (Ozil and Guen)
-Pepe red card, this could be stupidity or coach's fault for not being able to discipline players, you don't see this red cards in Klopp's or Pep's team, also to say for your player that it's his fault and blaming him publicly is awful way of handling situation with a player that is already on a big pressure.

It looks like he is losing it, people can feel it, it's same feeling we had with Emery.

As a Spurs fan imo Arsenals biggest mistake was getting rid of Wenger.

You have not improved much since his departure, if anything you have gotten worse.

But we were already on a steep decline with Wenger, who showed no sign of turning things around. Why would you keep a manager like that? Not to mention we have been financially crippled to this day by his shocking transfers - Xhaka, Mustafi, Lacazette, Kolasinac, Chambers, about £150M of transfers right there and nearly £1m/week on wages when you add in Mkhi and Ozil.

Ozil situation is quite frankly amazing imo.

The minute we failed to sell/pay him off he should have been added to the team list of 25 players or whatever it is.

Doesn't have to start him but surely having him on the bench is better than some of the options we have been seeing. The guy can still pass the ball forward very well and with us signing Partey could have made up for his lack of defensive gameplan.

I don't know about losing the dressing room in the sense of losing the respect and support of the players, but I do think they, like the fans, must be losing some faith in his methods or his philosophy or whatever you want to call it.

What I find hard to understand is how we can go from such a good intense performance and win against United, to the directionless apathetic sh*t we've seen since. Are the players only up for supposed "big games" now?

This was always going to be the big test of Arteta as a new manager: when new manager bounce wears off or he gets figured out a bit, or just the team loses form and results dry up. How he comes through this (or not) could very well define his career.

Absolutely. And that is where I struggle with other fans who write him off completely. I think under Emery and Arteta, he was being asked to do something he has not done all his career. Now some players can change their game but not Ozil. Asking him to run around for 90 minutes chasing the ball done and pressing is akin to asking a fish to climb a tree...it wont work.

I am not saying start the guy, but havign him on the bench against tiring defences or teams that played with a low block (like Leicester), he would have the time to find the passes. And with Partey and Elneny behind him, we'd have 2 mobile players who can do the dirty work. Not including him in the squads without a like for like replacement ready to go (creativity wise) was nothing more than politics.

Arteta can't care as less than as the people on the top if they don't show any ambition, then he can't do anything about that. Because Wenger always talked about on protecting the values of the club, but it was never concentrated on how they could take Arsenal back to the Champions League. So Arteta wouldn't lose any sleep over if Arsenal sack him because his hands are tied. He will upgrade his CV. Because he was an assistant manager at City and got a bigger job as a manager at Arsenal, but he was never helped at club so far properly with enough quality signings apart from Gabreil and Partey. I believe quality get you into the Champions League. We see bad decisions season after season. That is why we have so many inconsistent players. Because some of them aren't good enough to be at Arsenal. The club could have signed Ziyech when Overmars told them. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/11763722/arsenal-should-sign-hakim-ziyech-and-sell-mesut-ozil-says-marc-overmars

I know we did spend some money in his final years but the owners were definitely strangling his
spend to line their pockets.
======
It was Wenger tightening the purse strings. Many people have spoken about that, not least D!ck Law, who has told of many deals that were well down the line only for Wenger to have second thoughts and pulled out. Nothing to do with owners, as it is a self sufficient model, and all the owners take out is a fixed sum "consultancy fee".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Speculating or did you work for the club at some point..?

No, D!ck Law and others have stated this.

Been saying this whole time. Agree with you completely. Now that we have Partey, Ozil is perfect to play, but people called me crying fanboy with no arguments.
==================================

You've been given the arguments time and again but when it comes to your beloved Ozil, you won't accept any truth but you're own. You think he's the mutt's nuts and must be played at all costs and that's that. Any argument which doesn't agree with your delusion over the man himself, you refuse to acknowledge as true. So don't say you don't get given arguments, just called fanboy. When the actual truth is that you just REFUSE TO ACCEPT perfectly good arguments and reasoning because it doesn't agree with what you think of the player. Which is WHY you get called fanboy

The scoring problems we have currently are due to how Arteta has set the team up and the pure bus park approach he has taken. Lacking goals has absolutely nothing to do with keeping Ozil out. And the situation would not be rectified by putting him in. Arteta only need change the formation and combination of players and we'll create more goals. Players mad because they hate the formation and the stupid teams the manager keeps picking...? Yes quite likely. But players mad and dissenting over a player who failed to make an effort for 3 straight years, being kicked out of the squad...? Don't be silly.

Just the fact you even think that's possibility shows you've never been part of a team. If you had then you'd know that the last thing any team trying to win wants is a player it has to carry due to sheer lack of will and effort. Either that or you yourself were some lil prima donna pillock who thought himself so good he didn't have to work as hard as the rest of his team. Likely getting booted of it eventually as a result. Blaming someone/thing else other than your own ps poor attitude toward teamwork of course, just like your hero Mesut.
