Bedding in

Excellent threads from Jonty and Kamara which capture the divided views of posters. There are positives and negatives from this one, but I think we are growing into this league. We were measured and focused in the first half and we were in control at half time. Ironically, Arsenal were galvanised by the sending off and could have stolen the game, but we managed the threat, paced ourselves, and created a lot of chances. KP stabilised the midfield for us and most satisfying for me, we looked like a Premier League team, not a bunch of wannabes. Bielsa tweaked it when it needed to be tweaked. Raphinha got a deserved start, Rodrigo showed what he will bring to this team. On another day, we would have taken three points, but we can go into this tough fixture list with renewed optimism. And if anyone is feeling downhearted, just remember that 5 months ago we were getting beaten by the hoof and run merchants at Cardiff. I know what I'd prefer.

we've not even got our best 11 in yet. being pessimistic at this point is just ignorance.
even at this point we are one of the best watches in the league.
and hb and vof. good stuff

Agree with pretty much every word in the article.

Bizarrely, I think that we'd have beaten them but for the sending off. Because they concentrated on defending we just couldn't create many clear-cut chances – so even more amazing that we managed to hit the woodwork 3 times. As Montleeds says, we haven't played our best 11 yet. Hold on to your seats lads, the best is yet to come...

What's our best 11?

Agree. I thought both articles were solid.

I'm genuinely happy with what the club is doing
on and off the pitch. It's still so early in the season.
But, we look like we're becoming more adept.

Not much to be unhappy about. And I will add again
how much Rodrigo means to us. He's phenomenal.
Looking forward to him starting from now on.

I find it weird the way we lost to Arsenal in the cup and people praised the team!..

We draw with them in it must be pointed out, a "Premier league" game playing players that should be ripping us a new one!..

And people have a go!..

Luck was with Arsenal and they know it was, a shame it was Pepe that got sent of and not Leno!..

Arsenal are a mid table outfit and hadn't scored from open play for like 5 games or something. Drawing 0-0 against a midtable out of form side who had less men for near 40 mins aint particularly impressive.

Gotta win the home games, especially when you dominate

So Shaun, how many games have we dominated in Bielsa's time and not won?..

How many games do the so called top six dominate and don't win?..

We dominated the first half in that cup game but did pig all!..

Arsenal were better the second and their class showed through!..

Bielsa's game is dominance but it doesn't always work, and Arsenal a mid table outfit, do you really believe that?..

Not sure if you were about at the time Shaun, but there was a game a while back where Chelsea and Leeds played out a 0v0 draw, odd that, because Leeds had 9 players!..

And at least 1 carded was for most of the game!..

I was thinking the same thing, Lorra, we looked like we were patient, and in control. I bet our running stats were a lot lower than usual too.
