Rashford getting an easy pass from our fans

I never understood why Rashford gets an easy pass from our fans despite his horrendous performances for 90% games this year.

I genuinely believe he does not have the brains to succeed at United. Yes he has the skills, the pace and shooting but his decision making is really horrible. I see Martial get a lot of grief from our fans here and deservedly so. He too has been cack but Rashford gets an easy pass. Maybe because of his charity work?

Last night had it been Rashford making the pass instead of Greenwood's for Dan James' goal I am pretty sure Rashford would have hit the defender. 19 year old Greenwood has far better decision making ability than Marcus.

Apart from his hat trick and the winner vs PSG (where he was probably our worst player before the goal) he has done nothing of note this season.

Yes he’s a lethal finisher, but his decision making isn’t as good as Rashford’s. He takes lots of shots from angles and positions that are very difficult to score from, doesn’t look enough and ignores teammates in better positions. Greenwood’s a fantastic young talent, but there’s no need to lie about his decision making to try and put Rashford down. As of now, Rashford’s a much better, more rounded player. Greenwood needs to work on a lot of things to get to his level. If he does, he’ll be incredible because of his finishing ability.

Of course Rashford is the more developed player. He has had 200+ games under his belt and was in great form before lock down and injury. Greenwood barely has had 50 and 3 years younger.
My point is Rashford should be spear heading our attack which he hasn't done especially since lock down. At least last season he had the injury excuse. Now he is fit and yet gives away the ball cheaply, runs in blind alleys, mis places simple passes and in general fails to beat his man most of the time and none of our fans seem to criticize him. Martial does the same in fact worse but he deservedly gets the criticism.

But you’re the one lying that Greenwood has better decision making, he doesn’t. Rashford’s had plenty of criticism this season as well. His form is concerning, as it is for all of our attackers, but he’s still capable of producing moments of quality in games even when playing badly - before he’d not do this. When he’s in form he’s devastating. He’ll be fine at United, because he has the right mentality to play for the club.

Bit of context: Mbappe is on 9 goals and 7 assists

He’s a dross wasteman as well. The French Obertan.

8 goals, 4 assists and he doesn't give up.

He makes more mistakes because he takes more chances, much like Bruno.

He's not an out and out goalscorer and is best suited as a supporting striker, wide attacker.

Care to explain this statement?

Rashford is not half the player Greenwood is.

I think Greenwood will be the better of the two but this is unfair.

Rashy is quality. He should have scored a few more than hes got but he's young so I let him off.

If he's still the same player in 2-3 years, when he should be in his prime... Then yes, I'd probably agree with this article.
Right now though, is not 'prime' age in my opinion. He's still learning his game.
