Ferrari had the fastest car in 2018 & 2019

If you build the best car you want the best driver



Genuine question.... do you watch F1 and understand it or is it just 20 cars driving around a track for you?

Ferrari didn't have the fastest car in 2018 and 2019,they had a car on certain circuits that could match or be slightly better than the Mercs.

The Ferrari that season was better on the faster tracks if I remember rightly, so every 3rd race or so, they were better than Mercs. You also had a good red bull team back then too.

The Ferrari was better over a single lap on the high speed tracks. The car was too hard on tyres in race trim though, meaning that on the rare occasions they did deliver on race day, it was through defensive drives and the gap to second place was never more than 1.5 seconds. Impossible to compete on anything like a regular basis over a season in those circumstances.

It is because Ferrari worked around the rules and had you could say power they shouldn't have had. That is why when they banned this, Ferrari became a backmarker.

Anyone who is the best cars win regardless fail to understand the sport.

Any. one who thinks the best drivers have any chance in an inferior car fail to understand the sport.

The best drivers go to the best teams and they win. How it's always been with the occasional exception from time to time.

So a back maker drives Lewis’ Car for the first time without any testing etc.... and but for a puncture totally dominates the race and his teammate. I think this shows just how superior the car is and how poor Bottas is. Lewis is a very good and very consistent driver, but never near the GOAT.

Lewis drives near the limit every race, just like Russell did today. There are a lot of really fast drivers out there. Its just a shame there are only a few fast cars on the grid. Budget and clever people are key.

Bottas is one of the fastest drivers in F1. He easily beat Massa when he was more a rookie. Russell actually makes the slow Williams look competitive since he came which is a feat in itself.

The record books will say otherwise. And the person he is ahead of also had the privilege of driving the best car.

So Russell was walking to the win in Lewis’ car on debut as a rookie till the team ballsed it up.

Think that kinda proves my point, even a rookie can walk that car to the finish line unless someone at Mercedes messes up
