Royals v Forest

Home fans will be allowed back for tomorrows 12:30 K.O

Forest looked a far more organised side against Watford than they had against the Swans. Houghton say that the reds are playing and shooting with confidence during training.

Were they playing for a draw the other night? Watford reminded me of Liverpool during the late 70's, play nice football in possession, dirty as hell without it.

'When Nottingham Forest’s players are put through finishing drills, Chris Hughton says he sees players who are not lacking either in confidence or the killer touch. His keepers are generally busy.

The manager, like his peers in the Championship, is not blessed with an inordinate amount of time to work with his team amid a packed fixture schedule in the run-up to Christmas. But what he sees at training does not give him cause for concern.'

He isn't sitting in my seat then!

Reading sit in 4th spot after 8 wins 3 draws 4 loses. Last outing was a 1-1 against the Owls. They're emerging from a mini slump in form with just the 1 win in their last 6 games, they lost 3 on the bounce against PNE Stoke & Bournemouth.

Forest will be without Colback whose injury is still being assessed, will he be a loss?

Lewis Grabban, Tyler Blackett, Samba Sow and Fouad Bachirou are nearing a return.
t remains to be seen whether Scott McKenna will be fit to return after he missed the clash with Watford with a minor injury.

Millwall fans booing at the players taking a knee. Not helping matters 🧐

I’m no racist, but I wouldn’t take the knee
--------------------------------------------------------------------
But you wouldn’t boo the act neither.

No I wouldn’t boo

But I also don’t appreciate the expectation that everyone needs to conform to doing that gesture...especially when it holds so many other just as negative ideals

OK, back to the football.

I think a bit more perspective is needed. We all knew the run of six games was going to be tough, and I think we maybe could have done a bit better than three defeats and a draw from the first four. But the run started after two victories, and is followed by six games, five of which are against teams outside the top ten.

Which will bring us to about the half way point of the season, and the time when we can make more realistic assessments of how things are going.

Fifty points is usually enough to stay up which would mean us requiring about twelve points from the next eight games to put us back on track. Twelve points from eight looks a big ask from where we are and would be play off form if maintained for a full 46 games. But let's wait and see how we go.

Wherever we are and however much trouble we are in, the answer to any problems we have is not to sack Chris Hughton.

People are already stating that he isn't the man for the job on other forums, 'The Athletic' for example! Hughton i being compared to Megson!

Samba needs to be dropped for a game, we need key players like the goal keeper to be on form, Samba like Figueiredo looks like his mind is else where.

I have no problem with the knee as my wife is Chinese/ Jamaican parentage. What I do have a problem with is those who display the black power fist.

Is freeman injured?
He hasn’t even been on the bench since Barnsley. Surely he’s worth a punt to bridge the massive gap between midfield and the front 3.

It’s probably just as likely he’s in a shipping container being sailed off to Athens with nothing but his pants and some breakfast biscuits.

It’s is not surprising people are calling for hughton to go already. It’s definitely below expectation so far, no doubt, but there’s some problems under the surface here and they will be here, regardless who’s at the helm.

I’m bewildered we got hughton in the first place, and if he can’t pull all these strings together that’s gonna be one hell of a massive red flag for any perspective replacement. It’ll probably be close to like when Nige turned us down under Fawaz.

On the contrary; It is very surprising that people are calling for Hughton to go. Who'd have thought there were so many people who could be too stupid to see that the manager is not the problem. Lamouchi was not the problem, Karanka was not the problem, Warburton was not the problem; they are good managers. The problem lies much deeper. When Marinakis bought the club he appointed Nick Randall, Sam Gordon, Johnny Metgod and others who knew what they were doing. They have since gone or been sidelined. What's left to run the club is the problem..

Exactly this Vrentzos character is the problem and needs to go, sounds like a sociopath; I've met a few down here.

There’s always that vocal minority of people who think absolutely everything is a result of a manager. We’re not playing attractive, if any, kind of football at the moment so expected the morons to come out the woodwork. It’s that dream of a quick fix.

But agree completely that there’s something that’s very off at the club. Not to be dramatic but an air of toxicity’s building in the club and usually trickling down from upper management.
