Millwall 0 - 1 Derby County

The Den
Millwall
London

1500
Sat 15 Dec 2020

Back in the lion's den, in London, where we never win. As a weary, emotionally sapped fan base prepares, wearily to summon some smattering of optimism for yet another game of the 'must win' variety.

Some things are starting to click, we should have been out of sight at Coventry but it's looking like one of those tough sessions where we don't get the rub and always contrive to miss.

I'll be listening as per and checking the doom on Twitter before invariably trying to conjure up some justification at 4.45pm.

Hope springs blah, blah

Let's hope.

As said before, as a relative newcomer to this site I'm amazed at the amount of people who don't watch the games on TV - but rely on Radio Derby.

As grounds are currently closed you can watch the games (home and away) on Ramsplayer for £12.50 per month. An absolute snip if you ask me. Surely if you're happy to pay £20 a game to watch at the ground you'd pay £12.50 for a what 4 - 6 games a month ????

Anyway, on to today. Can't see further than another defeat I'm afraid. I really hope I'm wrong as the tide has to turn some time.....surely....

----------------------------------------------

As the club still hasn't returned the money they owe me for the Forest game which was back in early April I don't see why I should pay them for anything. Their delay in returning my money has already cost them far more than the price of the ticket. Their excuses as to why it hasn't been done yet are hollow. It shouldn't take this long. Only Ryanair and Derby County feel they need to hang on to customers money for which they provided nothing.

Of today, I expect the players on the pitch will provide a similar service. The club is a shambles at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As a DCFC supporter and season ticket holder. The way I see it Spart is that it must be costing MM an absolute fortune to keep the club running - out of his own pocket. If by my meagre £12.50 per month I can help - I will.

---------------------------------------------------

It was Mel's choice and even it's costing him a fortune he wont actually have to miss his dinner if he has to put the heating on.

When I made a contract with Derby County to see a game and they don't play that game I expect my money refunded. It's just part of the deal we agreed to.

Sheffield United seem really keen to take our record.

I see conservative cabinet minister George Eustice has said the booing Millwall fans should be respected. A bit like Trumpy saying the white supremacists were fine people. Closet fascists occasionally let their guard slip.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He also let his guard slip by admitting Brexit means everything is going to be more complicated, whether there is a "deal" or not.

I'm still confused as to why anyone still thinks it's a good idea?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am genuinely waiting, no angst, no sarcasm, no anger, no rolling of eyes but just an actual real good reason for Brexit?

It's been a quest of mine for 4 years and like the Holy Grail, my quest has been elusive.

Honest, it's a genuine question.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is NO good political or economic reason for Brexit.

The EU is still a great idea. Its in need of a major service/overhaul for sure but the principle is sound.

We should have stayed in and been a driver behind the overhaul, rather than leaving without a plan.

Precisely.

I'm sort of glad I'm old enough to be isolated from the worst of the inevitable effects, but that doesn't help my offspring.

Bit much calling me a clueless lefty! I mean, I am left footed but not on the political left.

The half wit bit is accurate though 👌

High public spending
State bail outs for struggling businesses
State subsidies and furlough for those unable to work
Massive state spending
Massive increase in National Debt
Tax breaks for those that work at home
Massive subsidies for travel infrastructure
...and on ad nauseum

All brought on by the Covid19 crisis/debacle

Anyway Heb, hope everything was alright yesterday - your last communique was a bit cryptic

Heb, I will unfortunately be saying I told you so to you and your ilk. The EU is hardly left wing and includes nations such as Hungary and Poland whose governments make Boris look like a lefty. You read too much Mail, Telegraph, Express.
