I was not a fan of the premier league jumping in the virtue signalling bandwagon of t shirts, shirt patches, logos on screens and taking a knee before matches.
The moment you choose a political movement to support you lay yourself open to real issues and especially now that Black Lives Matter are a political party I believe that football needs to rethink this.
I think the milwall match highlights the real issue, the ingrained racism in our society that footballer kneeling down will never address.
Whilst I don’t support football virtue signalling here I do not advocate this booing and the club and authorities must do something about that.
I also believe that rather than knee taking and the shirt slogans, the authorities need to be as firm with players who transgress as they are with fans who transgress.
