I have to hold my hands up and say I didn’t think he had it in him.
He was class for us in midfield for that season. But then he has really struggled since his injury-ravaged season - one before last I think.
Thought he looked ropey last season when Jose declared his undying love for him and put him in at CB.
I really worried for him and us this season with him as 1st choice.
I was wrong (so far). He has massively stepped up and improved.
Always loved his attitude and character; I think he loves being at Spurs and wants to win here.
Just wanted to publicly admit I was wrong and give the lad a massive shout out and credit where it’s due👍
He is buying into what’s going on and working hard to be better.

Dier has improved but I still have my doubts abouts him. He does sometimes have those Kyle Walker brain farts in him but Toby is the man without a doubt.

He'll have a year left on his contract and he'll be 28 plus we'll be looking to offload non homegrown players since we're already over the uefa limit

Shame that we had the perfect player for this situation in KWP and we treated him badly then sold him at the first opportunity.

Dier is turning into a quality CB, but he still gives the ball away by misplacing passes, twice yesterday he put us under pressure after a slack pass, iron out those errors and he will be a top player.
On another note, it is no surprise that since Sanchez has gone out of the team we are keeping clean sheets and looking far more solid at the back.
