SPR, everyone's circumstance, needs, wants and discretionary budget is different. Now you've stepped on the family ladder then it's going to make any holiday more expensive and possibly prohibitive even in this country once she goes to school. Still worth it!

Having just got rid of mine and can holiday anytime it is a huge frustration. Even more so that I can't bring my son home for fear of not getting back into fckdupsville. From 10 years of virtual daily football driven close interaction to zero and 6000km apart with no hope on the horizon is quite stressful. First world and all that but still.

The very Idea of taking her on a plane feels like a nightmare. Obviously I've been that person shaking their head as someone's baby roared non stop.

I'm pretty sure she would be that baby

Everyone moaning about holidays should be pouring their money into the ailing Scottish hospitality sector just as soon as they’re able.

To be fair gin is great

The younger that you take them on a plane is best, the drone of the engines keeps them sleeping all (most) of the flight

Aye, don't underestimate the weight of a wean when they're on your knee for x hours. Having two at the same stage there was no respite. We'd book 3 seats (which in itself is not easy because automated web bookings bomb you out trying to book a seat for an infant dob (erm) then have a seat you could plank one at a time just to go to the loo. Of course despite the hoops to go through doing that and despite telling the staff when you boarded what you'd done there would inevitably be furrowed brows and recounts when they did the head count versus boarding cards delaying the ridiculously short turnaround and missing the take off slot then the icy glares from other folks when they realise who held them up. So, let your wean scream, fck them
