Ole's Bedtime Thoughts

As I type this, I can imagine Ole is probably at home and preparing himself for bed. Would he have watched the game back by now? Most definitely. Lights out downstairs, candles extinguished and before you know it Ole has brushed his teeth. As he climbs into bed next to Silje and looks back at himself via the ceiling mirror; what will Ole be thinking? Let me try to get inside of him and speculate:

* Superb point against 'best of all time' Pep
* 200+ million pounds worth of attacking talent nullified
* Maguire looks like an 85 million pound defender again
* 1 game in hand victory away from the thick of the title race
* Unbeaten in 4 games against City and their 'elite' manager
* VAR decision away from 3 points
* Unbeaten in 5 league matches
* City kept quiet whilst United didn't have Cavani to call on
* Squad looking better and better
* Defensively one of the best teams in the league

Yep. That's right. As Ole closes his eyes tonight he gets a 'well done' from me. The Poch brigade will be having nightmares!

If he rewatches that game, it'll put him to sleep before he can think of anything.

Look at the great sides of the last 30 years. Milan. United. Bayern. Barca. Madrid.

All of them were solid and defensively unshakeable. Like Ole's United tonight.

You don't win anything without being solid at the back and Ole has done that. You just know if Cavani was fit tonight United win. VAR decision too was unlucky for United's penalty. United are closer to winning the title with Ole than you'd think.

You don’t win anything by not beating your rivals either - you’re yet to beat Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and City. Scored 1, conceded 7 out of those fixtures. Coupled with the defeats against Leipzig and PSG, Ole hasn’t won a big game all season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Except the games against Leipzig and PSG that he did win?

They were games 1&2 of the group, low pressure. You lost to both of them when it actually mattered. All you needed was a draw in either, but he lost them both. The 5-0 win as a single game is a great score line, but what did it get you? Nothing, as Ole couldn’t get the results when he needed to, in the “big games”, which had more of a knockout feel about them.

A top coach wouldn’t allow that to happen, especially at Utd - you’re literally in the Top-3 biggest clubs by stature in the world, and this guy gets kudos for drawing 0-0 at home to City, or gets called unlucky for getting k/o’d in the Group stages. He’s lost 6 out of 10 CL matches, that’s appalling.

OP

Where is the one game in hand? They have played the same games as Spurs, and are four points behind, with a far inferior goal difference. And also yet to play any of the so called big boys away from home.

Random but Heinze is now managaer of Atalanta. Just over 13 years ago OGS and Heinze were playing in 7-1 win against Roma and now they are managing in top sides.
