Over-reaction

Who wants one?

Gerrard bottles another trophy, unfortunately this is nothing new and really is a huge embarrassment this time. Celtic and Aberdeen were out of the cup it was between us and Hibs and we get papped out in fooking Paisley.

I don't think there was many performances at even par yesterday but we have to single Bassey out for a stupid foul that gave St Mirren life, had that not happened we would be through.

The midfield three of Arfield, Aribo and Zungu were utter schite. Zungu ruined our style, slow and backwards constantly and i don't want to see him start an important game again for a long time if ever. Aribo has been a shadow of the player he was at the start of the season recently is he actually better in the attacking three? Arfield let himself down but i won't be too harsh as he has been excellent this season. It says something our best two midfielders were Davis and Kamara and they came on late.

Itten had no service but maybe it highlights what Alfredo is doing right even without scoring. Kent and Roofe were both off the boil, Kent should have been off much earlier.

Anyway now i've got that moan out of my system. The positives are we didn't drop any points, Celtic can't win the cup either and everything else is going very well for us.

The big question over our team and manager just got a lot bigger though. Can we change from bottlers to winners?

Zungu looks brutal. Hopefully we don't take up that option. Even better, cancel his loan deal next month
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let him get his feet in the door first. How long did it take Barisic to settle? Now he's a star player. Zungu has been available for selection for just a few weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just don't see it with him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"How many games has he started?

How schit did Borna look for over six months, in fact pretty much an entire season?

There's no chance anyone will see much from him given he's not played."

Enough starts to see he offers nothing that we didn't already have in midfield, imo. Thankfully it's just a loan with an option rather than the £3m or whatever they wanted in the summer.

Granted I was wrong about Barasic, and I'll admit that. Like if I'm wrong with Zungu I'll hold my hands up to that as well.

"The whole team was rank last night. Kent, Aribo, Arfield, Bassey, the lot. Does that mean none of them should start another game?"

With how angry I am at the moment, aye

You have some high standards there mate

I'm disappointed by the defeat but otherwise over the moon with our season so far.

We've played at incredible intensity for pretty much every game at home and in Europe. Qualifying from being diddies to a team to be feared in the EL.

Again I'll say I'd far rather we lost in the Betfred Cup than in the league. No contest.

aye see tbh I'm surprised by the reaction of a lot of Rangers fans

27 games until your first defeat, you've got to look at it as a blip and not a sign of bottling it

unfortunately you can't come back from a blip in the cup but I wouldn't be going overboard

First comment that I have read today and it appears to be level headed and sensible Can't be ersed with over reaction to losing a game. We have ridden our luck in many games this year so far and last night it ran out. Disappointing, but not the end of the world and anyway, I've got a whole house to paint

Was it not "glub glub glub"?

May have been but what in fack possesses a (fraudulent) multi-millionaire to buy a 55m yacht off Khashoggi but still prefers to p!sh over the side?

I'm just generally pashed off at the moment, last night was the tipping point

I'm the opposite. I'm of the belief that we need some silverware as there's not enough players in the squad that have tasted it, and that competition was it. It could have been the catalyst for us to go on and win more. As it stands, there's still that doubt that this squad don't have what it takes to win something.

All my opinion of course.

I think this was certainly the case for Celtic in 98

That result last night could be Celtics greatest night this season come May.

That's a good shout by Miller. That coca-cola cup win gave us belief that we could go on and win things.

Zungu was pash, he was so slow on the ball we could never get a tempo going then he would pass backwards 9/10.

I'm not saying he's not got it because he looked decent in his first two starts but Steve Davis' are big boots to fill and against a well organised team that sit in you need to play much quicker.

A concerning performance from him but i agree Aribo was also hopeless and has went from possibly being our star player to being lucky if he's 5th choice in the midfield 3. He's a bit meek, wish he showed more desire because he's probably the most talented.

Beat Motherwell convincingly and this will quickly be behind us but don't and the wheels are coming off narrative will be all over. We're lucky Celtic are schite tbh

To be fair to Aribo he was stuck out on the left and you could see he knew from early on that it wasnt going to work for him.

He kept trying to cut in on his right and running into traffic.

Why SG left him there for the full 90 is beyond me.
