Concussion subs

What do we think of the rule change?

Doesn’t sound too bad, but I’ll reserve judgement until I see them used. Hopefully, it’s not something we will see often.

Probably a good idea with all the latest info on brain injuries. Just hope it's not taken advantage of though.

Good to see they're making headway in protecting players' wellbeing.

“To avoid potential abuse of the rule, opposition teams will also be able to make a change at the same time.”

Not sure I get this part. How is that in the opposing team’s interest? What if they don’t want to make a sub?

Team A: Player feigns head injury (presumably under instruction) so he can be substituted even though all Team A’s non-concussion subs have been used.

Team B manager to official: Hang on...

Official: You can make a sub too.

Team B manager: We don’t want to. We’re playing well.

Official: Stop moaning, then.

Have I got this wrong?

I’m guessing they don’t HAVE to make a sub

Of course, but my point is that that won’t even nearly “avoid potential abuse” of the the rule.

Yeah only having an independent doctor there could stop them faking it. Even then, you can't take the risk. Hopefully players and coaches won't take the pizz

If George Graham was managing with this rule there would be fists flying at half time so he could get extra subs for the second half

The whole subbthingbwas for injured players and not tactical issues. So part of me thinks it's there anyway managers just didn't use it in cases highlighted recently

On another note managers, Klopp, wanting more subs one week and making none yesterday sums it up

The concussion sub could be the opposition manager's choice.
