Was it in 1992 once sky came in ?
Was it when European competition was re arranged .European Cup replaced with Champions League and you no longer had to be Champions to enter it.
Also gettng rid of the UEfa Cup and Cup Winners Cup replacing that with the Europa League. Introducing the 2nd chance saloon so if you are knocked out of the CL you have another go in the EL.The old competitions were better.
Was it when 4th place became more important than winning a trophy
Devaluation of the domestic cups with the use of reserve players.
When managers are still sacked even after winning trophies.
Did football ever sell its soul for you ?
If so when ?
When did football sell its soul

Personally I love modern football, - yeah the money players get paid is obscene...but look at what tennis & golf pro's earn, not to mention most top American sports players (American football Baseball Basketball)
Look at the cost of a pint in any pub.bar, or 20 fags....equally obscene, but many pay it.
I pay nearly a grand a year to play golf, & see it as excellent value personally.
sold out....not for me, I used to go to football regularly in the 80's & 90's but choose to watch it in 4K HD with surround sound these days & I love it.
Also wanted VAR in too..it's not perfect, but it's here to stay & will get right

i believe these days the correct terms is "20 LGBTQs". and i'd argue that they're still jolly good value.

The problem is money is ruining the game these days, but no matter the cost of going to football, all the big clubs regularly sell out all their matches. So no real comeback for those that say it is to expensive. Fans would still go no doubt if it was £200 a match.

Three things:
Banning terracing.
No wage regulation
3pm blackout
All three made match day more expensive and following your team more difficult.

100% agree
fans can't moan....enough of them are willing to pay the rip off prices...that's why prices keep going up
if fans voted with their feet and stopped subbing to sky etc...the ££ in the game would stop instantly

I mean speak for yourselves but I don’t find 40 quid a game at the most successful club (along with Utd) of the last 20 years, seeing internationals and top players, to be a rip off

Football sold it's soul (in UK anyway) the day the PL was created. When clubs signed on the dotted line with Sky. In commercial terms, it was a blood contract with the devil.and his minions.
That said however, the devil that is Sky, got a big fat helping hand from unbelievably short-sighted law makers, to get his deal done. The Bosman ruling itself was a very good thing for both football and players. However the complete lack of foresight which saw the law leave the door open for footballers to effectively demand a potentially limitless sums of money, is the legislative enabler which ultimately responsible for creating this problem.

Is that what your season ticket equates to per game nick
