The game on Wednesday reminded me very much of a game we played in 2012 at Man City. They were top I think but we could have gone level on points, it was 2-2 in last few minutes (we came back from 2-0) and Defoe missed a great chance to win it. Ballotteli got the winner for them in last minute, when he shouldn’t have been on the pitch after stamping on Scott Parker earlier
I felt after that it would be a massive psychological blow and we would crumble, and we did, don’t think we even made top 4 in the end.
Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat

Yep, our history is littered with examples.
WBA at home in the Leicester season?

Yep it's mentality as much as anything 1 point from 2 games where other results had gone for us and we needed to cash in make a statement.
Don't get me wrong I've never for one minute thought we could win the league Liverpools display today tells you all you need to know about how far off them we are.
But it's still massively annoying that we always falter at the key moments.

Yes even Henderson cleaning out Dier at the corner for Varpool`s winning goal could be described as on a level with Ballotelli, the officials ignored both incidents

Although it becomes even harder when you get teams like Palace who, against us, fought tooth and nail from minute one, and against Liverpool, bend over like a pathetic 3 year old as soon as the game kicks off.
This seems to happen a lot. We have seen teams like West Ham, Newcastle, Burnley etc fight for everything against us. Individuals ( particularly in Europa ) regularly scoring long shot worldies they will never repeat in their lives, and goalkeepers having the game of their lives ( like the Palace bloke last week )
Yet you then get Liverpool turn up and Palace, the same team that gave us a good game a week ago, put in a pathetic performance like that. And everyone thinks Liverpool are brilliant.
Beggars belief.

Wasn't that the season we made top 4 but Chelsea won the CL?
I feel more confident about this team to be fair. We do have a better squad and manager than we did then.

Yup lots of teams do seem to see Spurs as their cup final, whilst just bending over for some clubs.

Yes, Palace were dreadful, the result was more to do with how poor they were than how good Pool were.
You won`t hear the end of this result for a few days, yet when teams are unceremoniously shafted by the officials against Pool, it is quickly swept under the carpet and disappears down the big black hole of refereeing favouritism.
