Guaita

How come when we played Palace their keeper Guaita saved absolutely everything we threw at him, including the proverbial kitchen sinkšŸ¤”

Yet today he did virtually nothing similar, in fact he was the complete opposite today. Did not get anywhere near a single Liverpool goal !šŸ¤¬

Spurs would've beaten Palace by 6 or 7 if they didn't park the bus tbf. The performances aren't going to be the same if the oppositions' performances aren't identical.

You have to look at performances across the season. Maybe Hodgson felt Palace could get at Liverpool as we've conceded a lot of goals.

Guita is probably a closet Pool fan, he wouldn't be the first player to have a purposely bad game against them.

Said this earlier today. Was like two different Palace teams. One fought us for everything, the other bent over the minute Liverpool ran on to the pitch.

I agree.

Yes the keeper made a couple of great saves but he also gave us our goal so I'd rather look at the bigger picture which is that last week Palace put a real shift in whereas yesterday they just wrote the points off and didn't lay a glove on Liverpool.

Some people laugh when folk say that the number of London derbies makes it harder for the capital clubs in the Prem but the difference in Palaces approach to the 2 games illustrates the point.

Yeah, it was exactly the same when we played Fulham, they rolled right over for us.

Face it, teams have off days and I’m pretty sure they’re not planned. Did we just roll over for Villa, and what conspiracy theory do you have for that one?

Some of the stuff some of you Spurs lot are coming out with is embarrassing.

This. Spurs score and they just want to hold on to the lead. Liverpool want to steamroller every team they play and even with a two goal lead will still push on.

Not sure why people think Guita had such a great game against us. He made up for his howler with some quality saves, a goal conceded from those attempts is what you would expect from a prem keeper.

Liverpool winning 7-0 just shows how bad our tactics were. Would have been a comfortable win if we had just kept playing at 1-0.

Do London teams really up their game against other London teams? Apart from arsenal I can't help but feel that the others feel the same about Spurs as they do about us or city or Newcastle...

Also, if palace "gave up the 3 points" it's probably because they knew they had to defend properly so didn't go all out whereas against you they might as well throw everything at it because they only have to defend Kane and Son as the rest of your players are in the 18 yard box (exaggerating here of course before the wet among you have a hissy fit)

100 per cent right Steve. I mean the difference in Palaces performance over two games was astonishing. Hodgson laughing at the end of yesterday's game, was an absolute sign a few brown envelopes had been forwarded to the Palace changing room.

We're just a much better team than you.

Dear me how naive, you obviously don't any West Ham or Chelsea fans.

West Ham always sing "we hate Tottenham more than you" when they visit the Emirates.

I don't think it being a derby game had much to do with it.

We went 1-0 up after 3 minutes which is always a sucker punch, the game was then pretty even with Palace probably the better side in the first half, but it was 3-0 half time with us scoring 3 goals from 3 shots.
That's obviously demoralising. We then come out second half and again score within 5 minutes which completely kills the game off.

Also add in this was Palace's 3rd game in a week and it's understandable why their effort wasn't the same.
