The Misery of Sissoko

Any team that has Moussa Sissoko as one of the first names on the team sheet will never be consistent.

Sissoko is a Carthorse of a footballer, who hides from the ball and is afraid to pass it more than 5 yards. He can`t shoot, can`t pass and shietes himself when he gets within range of the opposition goal.

I don`t care about his `energy`, `defensive attributes` or `physicality`, he is a lumbering workhorse with next to zero ability with the ball and he severely hampers our ability to pass and keep the ball.

The negative impact he has on our midfield far out weighs any other good defensive work he does, even his defensive skills are open to errors, today he went to sleep on one of the Leicester goals.

When the team is winning, players like Sissoko can hide and go largely unnoticed, but when results are bad it is clear how badly we need an upgrade on our resident donkey.

Give me any of Leicester`s midfield over Sissoko any day. I am surprised Mourinho can not see how much Sissoko drags our play down, but I suppose he only sees the defensive work he does.

I am not criticizing Sissoko`s work rate or commitment, which is never in doubt, but we simply need a better footballer as a first choice player, he should never be more than a squad player / defensive utility man.

Didn't Spurs start today's game with 4 central midfielders?

Yep, two most creative ones playing out of position on the right wing and as a 2nd striker

Yeah. Line up looked weird to me.

Embarrassingly poor on the ball. How has he been capped for France when he can’t pass and move in midfield. Touch is awful. Awful. How was he not hooked at HT?!?!

Don’t Billy. A certain oxygen thief on here might call you racist for calling out Sissoko because he’s back. Just a word of warning mate.

When a manager thinks Sissoko is a more important player than Ndombele when 1 down at HT you know he is facking clueless.

There was a time in France when he was a real prospect with pace, power and a good touch. It's weird seeing him as a utility or dm player as he looks a shadow of the player he was.

Jose always has a player doing the role Sissoko is, moves sideways across the pitch to cover space, its robotic but his system need it.

If we played a footballer instead of Sissoko we would see a marked improvement in our play in my opinion.

Unfortunately, Mourinho is a safety first manager and will sacrifice ability for defensive cover.
