The road to Mou

This is a very basic timeline of what's happened in the last 6 or 7 years

Spurs appoint Poch who transforms the club into genuine title contenders improving players and playing some of the best football we've seen in the last 30 years. Fanbase is united behind this manager and style of play.
Players start believing their own hype and agitate for moves causing unrest. Poch recognises this and requests a big squad refresh. Poch is totally ignored by Levy due to stadium distraction/NFL/naming rights deals etc
Squad in desperate need of a refresh by now as players not performing Poch style of play using intense pressing and fast attacking play is totally dead.
Levy now throws a hand grenade in and appoints Mourinho in a desperate attempt to keep the CL money train going making him one of the highest paid managers in world football. Levy/Lewis have an eye on flogging the club to US investor (Amazon) dollars in their eyes and Mou brings that media explosion of interest good or bad .
Style of play is now non possession/reactive snooze fest boring the majority of the fanbase. Some believe its worth it to win a FA cup. Doesnt work season 1.
Squad is refreshed finally and creative players look ready to fly (NDombele, GLC). Mou doubles down on defensive block Inter style splitting fanbase. The style of football is pitiful but its ok say some as we may end up with a Carling cup.
Team drifts and players unhappy playing boring defensive style. Mou blames all and sundry but himself. Spurs complete Man U style Mou blow out with or without Carling cup.

Now the fans who want a trophy at any cost are saying Mou's only been here a year. Well Mourinho has never ever been at a club long enough to imprint his long term plan because he doesn't have one he doesnt build football clubs. Its short term or bust.

You should have got Ancelotti. He’d have been pragmatic when needed, but let the players play with a bit of freedom to entertain. Doesn’t have Mourinho’s pedigree where trophies are concerned, but would have been a good middle ground between the inexperienced managers that play fun football, that haven’t won anything, and the man currently stinking up the place with his vision of football.

Who do people want when Mourinho goes?

Rodgers or Nagglesman for me.

I hate to say it but I agree with that twa t Luka LOL.

None of the names mentioned have the necessary pedigree over Mourinho in terms of winning trophies. Yes they’ll play nicer football (tbf that’s a given), but I would err on Jose side if its solely trophies being the endgame.

Ten Haag, Simeone, Poch back or Allegri would be my replacement choice.
But I would rather let the boredom continue for a couple more years to give Jose the requisite time to deliver, and if not he can do one.

I'm glad someone like MourOutTho has commented.

He is the epitome of a flock of Spurs on here who would rather see fancy football with no end product (no trophies) and abject failure that give a manager with a proven track record in multiple leagues in Europe their backing. Each to their own but I'm glad I'm backing the king rather than hoping some jonny loser taking us back 5 years to mid table mediocrity.

I had a season ticket from the age of 11 in1958 through to the end of the 1984 when Keith Burkinshaw left and the club became a plc. For me that was the end and remember it was KB who pointed to the THFC sign on his departure and said 'there used to be a football club in there.' I have made a few visits with one of my sons over the past 10-12 years and particularly enjoyed the Redknapp era but in my opinion it was selling ourselves to the stock exchange which finished it and the final straw was demolishing the ground , building a monstrosity on the same site and not even bothering to call it White Hart Lane.

Yes it’s all about money but I think it’s wrong to bad-mouth the magnificent new stadium and call it a monstrosity.

I love old WHL- had some great times there.
But times move on.
