McTominay

I've always liked him. He was absolutely outstanding yesterday. He was all-action and seemed to pop up everywhere on the pitch.
Scored 2 goals and brilliantly set up Daniel James for his first goal of the season.
I actually laughed hard when the commentator mentioned that McTominay became yesterday the first player ever to score 2 goals in the first 3 minutes of a PL match. That's actually shocking when you consider all the great goal scorers down the years.

McSauce is quality. Big fan.

Glad you’ve come around

I’ve never not been in favour of McTominay. It’s the manager I’m not convinced on, as well as Martial, Pogba, Lindelof and Maguire. The bum squad.

Is that true? That’s amazing. I’m sure Robbie Fowler got a hat-trick against Arsenal in the first 11 minutes, or something stupid like that?

Yeah it’s true, glad the op mentioned it. I wondered if it was at the time of watching it. It was very quick. He’s a good soldier McT

Ah, Robbie Fowler’s hat-trick took place within 4 minutes and 32 seconds, but the first goal wasn’t until about 26 minutes. Always thought it was right at the start.

Scott ought to gain a good bit of confidence from that performance. Did anyone else think that first goal looked just like a Michael Carrick goal? That's what I thought when I saw it. Carrick didn't score many, but once in a great while he's take a beauty of a shot from that area. His second goal was very smart play - the lad is improving to another level, and not at the expense of his main role.

Five stars from me OP.

Amazing the abuse the lad received on here from the usual suspects.

Here’s what Scholay said when I said McT would become a very useful squad player:

“This fella Rosso is in Neverland I tell you. We are in for another tough season. I can already see article after article being written about our dire midfield come the season.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------
As I am not one to run away, I did say this. Funnily enough you did not share this couple of months back but happy to do so now. I'll put my hand up and say the midfield have done better than expected.

One performance is not going to change my stance however, if they consistently perform like yesterday we can have a convo.

“Why loan a player who isn’t good enough? Just sell both.”

“I know that I’ve seen enough to suspect he’s not got the technical ability to make it for us. Either way, it’s obvious he hasn’t got what it take to be a top player and now more than ever we cannot carry passengers and hope to compete.”

“I’m not just judging him by technical ability. He’s not particularly athletic, his tactically naive and sloppy in possession.”

It wasn’t just you. The majority of people on here had completely written him off after ten games.

Like I said, it wasn’t just you. Most of the board was at it.

People really don’t give our youngsters any kind of a chance when they step up.

Thanks for the reminder that the walking abortion from Belgium tarnished the hallowed turf of Old Trafford.
