On Sunday Wolves welcome Spurs to Molineux when the league’s two Portuguese managers meet for the first time this season.
Despite being old friends, Nuno and José share a rivalry which for Nuno is partly fuelled by his desire to outwit his old boss.

Spurs are enjoying their best season under Mourinho and currently sit 6th in the table with 25 points. Recent results have been a bit mixed however with a win against Arsenal followed by a draw with Crystal Palace and a loss to Liverpool.
On Sunday, a lacklustre performance from Spurs saw a home loss to Leicester.

Since returning to the top flight Wolves have met Spurs 4 times with away wins and home losses for both sides as a result. Nuno’s Wolfpack will be hoping to reverse that trend on Sunday.

Since taking over at Tottenham, Mourinho has introduced his characteristic defensive style which, according to many fans has made them negative and boring to watch.
Nuno is also known for his conservative style, placing the emphasis very firmly on defending and relying on counter attacking to produce the goals. Those goals though have been few and far between with Arsenal being the only team outside of the relegation zone to have scored less. Without the Molineux crowd pushing them on, Wolves have only managed to score 8 goals in their 7 home games this term so this game has the potential to become a total bore fest.

Wolves recent results have seen wins against Arsenal and Chelsea offset by losses to Liverpool and Aston Villa. They come into the game on the back of a 2-1 away defeat to Burnley with a disappointing performance that showed little in the way of imagination or attacking flair. As a result Wolves sit in 11th place with 20 points.

Actually I take some of that back, that run of 0-0s in 15/16 was dreadfully boring. Nearly nodded off (slightly hangover induced admittedly) during the Rotherham game.

I agree that I personally don't find watching Wolves boring due to being so invested in it. That doesn't mean our style of football hasn't been boring though.

We have been overly cautious since the beginning of last season, always defend deep and have a constant focus on shape rather than looking to take the initiative in games. If it were another team, I wouldn't bother watching us when we were on the box.

I have to say that I wouldn't use the word boring to describe our football, I find it frustrating more than boring. I find myself willing them on and yelling at the telly only to see another blocked shot or a shot go wide of the post or into row Z (the new Neves).
The most frustating thing though is when a team are sitting deep and we just keep re-cycling the ball backward and sideways around their area with no-one getting in the box in amongst the defenders to unsettle them and drag them out of position.

This season only one side has spent less time in the final third of the pitch. Last season only two sides did and the season before only one side did.

All that is so true Gem and I would add things like short corners that end up in our own half. Another is the quick break when one of us (Neto or Podence) get the ball drive into the other half beat players then send it back to the back three or Patricio who ponce around with the ball and allow the opposition to regroup.
Then its repeat and repeat with me shouting at the TV to move it forward not back.

Oh don't even get me started on short corners! Have we ever scored from one? I think not.

I am actually amazed this wouldn't have been a demand from day one to be honest.
