Winks & Hojbjerg

Is better against low block teams than sissoko & hojbjerg.

Winkbjerg/Hojinks partnership needs to be given a few games to play together.

Need more goal threat in coming games.

Should be rested against Fulham, he'll have played 6 90s this month

I hate to come across all Sandy, but surely 6-7 games per month isn't too much?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, they were playing 6 or 7 a week in Sandy’s day

Yeah it's a fair point. I don't mean to say we should run him into the ground, and hopefully he will get a rest at some point, but as you can see above he's not being played a lot more than his counterparts.

In fact Werner's total minutes this season are around 2000 compared to Harry's 1800.

I'd be interested to see the distance covered stats too, see how he's doing compared to previous seasons.

Winks & Hojbjerg
=================

Winks way too light weight and against the better sides, who have a solid defensive midfielder, gets blown off the ball far too easily.
Sissoko can hold up the ball and is strong enough to not be brushed aside, like with Winks.
That's why Winks doesn't get selected in big games that often.

We need more than one way of playing as we are becoming to predictable and easy to nullify. Any team in the bottom ten is happy with a point against so sets up in their own third and doesn’t allow Son/Kane the space to operate in.

Sissoko cannot play football, he’s hopeless, Winks can. PEH has enough about him to break up play and move the ball forward, and to drop in between the CB’s if the full backs push on. Winks is more creative and will find more progressive passes in one game than Sissoko will in a season. Either Winks/PEH, or Ndombele & PEH should be the set up against all but the very best ball playing opponents ie City, Liverpool and one of two others. That’s when you wheel Sissoko out, and also when we need to shut up shop in games. He should be a squad man, not the first name on every team sheet.

Also, like Kane PEH can’t play every game in every comp, he’s not Superman. Winks & Ndombele need to be ready to fill that position alongside Sissoko. Picking the same 11 game in game out causes you problems when you’re forced into rotation, because the players you bring in aren’t match sharp enough to do the job required (see Dele). Jose has a good squad as we’ve all said, but he’s not using it well enough - Son, Kane and PEH all need resting.

Agreed. Sissoko needs to be upgraded or benched until we play City or Liverpool. The rest of the teams in the prem should not be able to outplay a midfield 3 with selections of PEH, GLC, Ndombele and Winks.
