Just a couple months ago if someone told me that we'd be 3rd on the table , just 5 points off the top and with a game in hand as well , there's no way I'd have believed it.
Especially after that Arsenal loss when I can honestly say I felt the lowest that I can remember feeling as a Man Uni fan.
But fair play to Ole and the boys ( and I've been a hard critic of the manager on here ) , since that loss to Arsenal we have literally been untouchable in the league. The record speaks for itself really
Of course now it's that time of the season when the best teams separate themselves from the rest of the league during the busy holiday schedule.
Hopefully we stay the course and keep the good run going.
Merry Christmas to all

Why is that strange?
------------------
Because Cavani hasn't actually played that much, so is probably not a massive reason for our up-turn in form (though is no doubt a great addition to the squad)

CBG equally I’m surprised with where we are given our injuries which now look to be getting better.

I’ve said since the end of the window that this is the strongest United have been personnel wise post SAF and it’s up to Ole to deliver.
So far he is doing that.

United's attack is much more balanced now and with a focal point, Cavani, it means both flanks, with very good players can now join the attack and build it up, rather than no one to hold the ball, and the defense just clears it.
That's why I had you down to smash Leeds
Good job and will make our job harder
Merry Xmas

strange analysis
Cavani has started only 1 PL game (West Ham. He was subbed at HT when we were losing 1-0)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing strange about it. You had good attacking players on either side of the flank. Martial and Rashford always on the left, and Greenwood on the right.
That's United's formation? Ole tried to move Martial to the middle but he isn't a hold up striker.
Your attack looked unbalanced, this was highlighted on MOTD few times.
The reason Cavani was brought in is to allow the attack to develop, and Cavani allowing those players to catch up with him and provide support.
Why is that strange?

You haven't watched us play since Cavani joined have you?

Yeah but we've got Cavani.
That's why we smashed Leeds, apparently

He's played 190 minutes of PL football and started only 1 game. Yet somehow he is the main reason we are doing well in the league.

Perhaps playing time is just the tip of the iceberg:
The intent and message it sends to players signing him
The spirit, desire and intensity that is an an example
The minutes played represent a fraction of the time played in training that affect others
Just a thought.

Yeh but morespurs specifically said that Cavani is providing more of a focal point. Hard to do from the bench no?
Also suggesting that Cavani was needed to smash leeds is bizarre. Their style of play means that they are probably the team in the league that you least need a striker to hold up the ball. With the space they leave you need to hit them on the break as fast as you can. We've never had a problem playing teams like that under Ole.
