It is noticeable that whenever Jose has made any mistakes, subsequently he rectified it and the team addressed the issue with a solid run in the league.
With the goals conceded against West Ham, and the mistake by Jose to bring on a unfit Bale on and conceding initiative to the opponents, and the defensive frailties exposed, the team then went to become the best defensive side in the league.
Jose, after a period of playing against teams that like possession and coming out well in the league, has found it difficult to negotiate games where the other team lets Spurs have the possession. Against Liverpool, only a post and an unheard of miss from Kane, meant the team lost a narrow victory in injury time. Again that was against a team that likes possession.
However, at Palace and against Leicester, against opponents who sit deeper and gives away possession, where the gameplay relies on Spurs having the creative spark to unlock these teams, and relies on the team having a more flair rather than defensive mindset, Spurs got found out.
We have become adept at playing without possession, and now must learn to play with it.
However, with fleeting appearances from Ndombele and Lo Celso, and a rare ones from Bale and Dele, Spurs don't have that spark and look too defensive against these teams.
A midfield made of PEH, Sissoko and Ndombele will create very few chances, depriving the front players of opportunities.
Jose must now learn to setup his team to play teams that allow possession and sit deep.
It's probably the right time to bring back Dele and think of benching Sissoko.
It is also noticeable that Jose has in recent games, curtailed the full backs attacking natural instincts in favour of defending, and he must allow them to move forward and join the attack.

All these tweaking and experimenting underlines the fact that this is Jose's first year in full charge and there will be the odd performances and results.
