Is Jose lying or deluded?

Against Palace, and again yesterday, he has come out basically trying to excuse himself of the failure and said that he wanted the team to keep attacking - basically its the players fault.

Is he telling the truth? Does anyone actually believe him? Is he deluded into actually thinking his tactics are to attack? Or are the players choosing to defend?

Find out next time on dragon ball z!

All Mourinho had to do after the WHU debacle was to drop Sanchez, Winks and Sissoko from the team indefinitely. Instead he has changed the way we play, sacrificing most of our attacking for defending. It didn`t need such a drastic change of tactics, just a change of personnel.

Difficult for players to change from ultra defensive set up, when they are doing it in training everyday and on the pitch, to a more attacking system, they are not machines , difficult to flip flop especially during a game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't watch the match but they were saying on MOTD that Bielsa and Leeds adapted their style of play to suit Burnley's. If they can manage to do it surely it should not be hard for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bielsa is a much better and more flexible manager though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest fraud in football is Bielsa. Leeds are 12th in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
because bielsa is a fraud? or because they just got promoted. one thing for certain, jose couldn't take a mid table championship team and with few changes get them to 12th in the pl in 2 years. why talk such utter nonsense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They way people talk about him like he is the second coming is very overboard. Apart from winning the championship with Leeds he has done sweet fa for all the other European clubs he has managed.

Roy Keane once won the championship with Sunderland. Big deal.

Don't put him in the same sentance of Jose. You embaress yourself.

Bielsa has got his teams punching above his weight for decades, and he's moved with the times. Mourinho hasn't punched above his weight since his first gig at Porto. And Bielsa has done it with attacking verve.

Don't get me wrong it's an apples-and-oranges comparison, and Mourinho clearly has the fuller trophy cabinet. 10 years ago I'd have said Mourinho was obviously the better coach. Nowadays though...

Winning everything with Intet was punching. Wrong again Amanda.

He's setting you up the same way I could imagine him handling a mid-table club. He is a back foot tactician 100%, the ideology is how do we stop them first/how do we hurt them second, but he's not THIS negative usually. On occasions yes but not as a matter of course.

It could be the players, falling back into a pattern that worked vs. the big teams which was your best sequence of results home & away in a long time, but even if it's the case in itself it's poor leadership... he's empowered the players but they're not following orders on a game by game basis. That's assuming he's not outright lying when he's saying that as you say, which is always possible with Jose.

I am willing to give Mourinho until the end of the season but I have to say that

The football is some of the worst I`ve seen at Spurs.

We have become too predictable.

We have no plan B.

Mourinho overuses certain players.

Mourinho underuses other players.

Mourinho is scapegoating one of our best players.

We take the lead and then stop playing.

We are playing to our weakness and not our strength.

Mourinho has blind faith in some ordinary players.

Mourinho has no faith in some very good players.

I could go on....

It does not look too good at the moment and I have no idea how things will develop.

What is clear though, is that we need a good performance and 3 points asap.

It is not all doom and gloom though, we have already been away to Old Toilet, Klanfield, Stamford Bog, Molineux, Turf Moor, The Hawthorns (won`t be easy now Fat Sam is there) and St Mary`s. That is 7 of the tougher away games out of the way already.

this isn't 2002 porto or first stint chelsea.
i don't give a sh!t about history, thats the only place jose would be a better manager than bielsa. i'm talking here and now and most spurs fans that didn't go into hiding would say bielsa would be a better match for spurs than jose.

A bit maybe, but not massively. Inter's team was sensational in 2010.

All the same I'd much rather have Bielsa managing Spurs, but that won't come as a surprise

Surely it is about time that Harry Kane decided which badge he is going to wear. Is it the one which says 'I am the teacher's pet' or is it the one which says 'I am the captain of this club and my team-mates and myself think .........etc etc. I hope it is the latter because unless someone stands up and puts their points forcibly then Jose is going to walk all over them. Once Alli goes then who is going to be the next one that finds it is his turn to fall out of favour? Harry should get the views of his team and, if necessary, go to Levy and demand some action. If not then we are going to end up with a bunch of totally bewildered players who don't really have an idea as to what is expected of them and won't want to hang around to find out.
