One player head & shoulders above...

the rest (including Grealish), in an attacking sense: Callum Hudson-Odoi last night!

Measured excellence every single one of the passes, crosses and diagonals/switch of play; exquisite weight with either foot.
Wonderful creative playmaking outlet.

Not many in world football can execute to such phenomenal level, technique, consistency and accuracy with both feet (or couldn't at his age, been doing them for years dating back to academy days).

Pinging them with absolute ease all match...causing havoc (taking opposition players out of the game) and tantalisingly close away from goals contribution which would have been the reward to cap-off an outstanding performance & effort.

Chilwell our standout player. Put a lot of good crosses in.

When I saw the headline, I thought the article was going to be about AC

I have seen better performances from CHO before. He was ok in patches, but nothing like you claim. Most of the attacks came from the left. Chillwell and Pulisic were a constant threat to Villa.

Btw. Growing tired of Christensen acting like a little lassy

Yeah he wasn’t head and shoulders better than anyone. Solid enough game. No more no less

Most of our best attacking moves were initiated and facilitated by Callum in the first place!

I’ll break it down, briefly.
Didn’t think I would have to because it was clear (but here we go)….

The main game-plan was to draw/drag Villa players to right and switch the ball quickly to the overlapping Chilwell arriving into acres of space, creating overloads on the left (with Pulisic & Mount).

Understandable...as Azpi can't provide anywhere near the same threat on the right, to work with Hudson-Odoi and exploit Villa (James on the otherhand...)
When Azpi was allowed to advance to provide width, guess who had the vision to find him with a beauty of a pass from the left...Yep, that's right: Hudson-Odoi.
Taking up intelligent positioning between the lines, productive.

Hudson-Odoi played his role perfectly throughout the match, smart operator (even up to that very last sweetly struck volley by Chilwell at the end, would have been a glorious winner).
Outstanding performance & presence in the attacking third Hudson-Odoi

Didn't once try and go 1 on 1 with a defender. Probably lacking some confidence still for that, but if he does get a run of games then he has to bring that side of his game.
