Jose/Spurs New Years Resolutions.

What should they be?

posted on 31/12/20

Mourinho's resolution would ideally be to find a new job.

We were desperate for another striker and need one to compete on all levels, get one and hes going to play under 1,000 minutes over comps over the season and we wont take up the option to buy - so back to sq 1

What is the point of a big squad during a busy fixture schedule, if you're going to rotate some players!

Why have these players then?

(*), if you're NOT going to rotate some players!

Think its all been covered but will add my 2 cents anyway

1. Stop turning one of the top 3 strikers in the world into Eric Dier
2. Stop making it all about you its depressingly tiresome
3. The players look utterly fed up improve your management skills
4. If youre going to adopt a non possession game then at least make an effort to counter attack regularly in a game rather than 1 or 2 times.
5.It obviously wont happen but I would like Joses NY resolution to be to hand in a written resignation letter giving up his outrageous salary with an acknowledgement that his tactics are facking dull and past it and an apology to all football fans for sucking the life out of the beautiful game in a pandemic

Basically Ace's comments and this one sum up my feelings completely.

I have never felt this way about Spurs in my 38 years of existence. Even when we were fighting relegation, I would look forward to watching us each week. When the game was postponed yesterday, I was relieved.

The Jose effect is pretty incredible.

It's inevitably going to happen, we can all see which way this is heading. It's a shame we are going to have to wait a while longer though as he seems to have Levy round his little finger.

Strangely, among the Spurs fans I am friends with, I am the only one who is sick of Jose. He seems to have convinced a lot of people that he is getting the best of a poor squad. Does my head in.

i have very much adopted the it is what it is approach, and just thinking of trophies for the time being. If they dont come, then i will be in your boat. Like you said, we know what is going to happen eventually but this, although it is painful journey, is the best chance we have of a trophy with a results based manager who has won plenty in his career.

it is truly baffling that there are fans out there that think Jose is 'building' something and could be here for years though.

Sick of Jose? It's his first season in charge dude!

Whatever he is doing, in the global schema, we aren't doing badly
In the next rounds of Europa league, FA Cup. and most likely in the final of the league cup and right now, look good for top 4, and you are sick of him already?

Blmey, doesn't take too long to get you going!

I'd say most people realise that Jose has inherited a bunch of players who were in decline.
Remember our abysmal record and the slide down the table and the losses to Brighton, a crashing defat tbh 3-0!
Jose has halted that, and he has by and large, done very well.
And if come May, we are in further in-road into the Ropey league and the FA Cup, and are 4-6th in the league, I would sya he has done really well.

You need to back the team and the manager and give both a chance, over a few months, not just because in the last 2 weeks, we had some bad results.

Don't get me wrong, most of us as you can see on here, we have our grievances against how things are being run, but we are fans and we all think we are "manager" too
Jose has won more than most managers and we should let him have his season

if you took someone who never watched football but understood the game itself and told them that spurs manager was one of the winningest managers ever they wouldn't believe you.
