MEN are reporting that we are against loaning Diallo back to Atlanta. It will be interesting to see what Ole does with him. I think a few are expecting him to be loaned out, but by the sounds of it he is looking to use him in the first team. Hopefully he gets some playing time in the ropey. Pellestri too.
========
Manchester United have no plans to loan Amad Diallo back to Atalanta for the remainder of the season.
However the MEN understand United currently have no interest in letting Diallo return to Italy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to integrate the youngster into his first-team squad as soon as possible.
United are in the process of finalising a work permit for Diallo after the two clubs agreed a fee rising to £37million for the winger on deadline day in October.
MEN Sport first revealed United's interest in Diallo and reported at the time the deal for Diallo was 'not straightforward' due to the forward's complicated passport issues. The teenager was born in the Ivory Coast and moved to Italy at a young age.
Speaking on Saturday Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini revealed his club were 'working on a deal' to keep Diallo until the end of the Serie A campaign despite him having made just two substitute appearances for the club this season.
Diallo, like fellow summer signing Facundo Pellistri, will need time to settle in England before he becomes a regular in match day squads but Solskjaer can't wait to get to work with the exciting winger.
"Amad, we've had the paperwork," Solskjaer said following United's win over Aston Villa on New Year's Day. "We're waiting for other paperworks. I can’t see any obstacles, really, so hopefully he'll be with us in not too long.
"Very excited about bringing him in. He's shown a few times his qualities but he has to learn that playing in England is a different type of football, so we'll give him time to develop.
"But apart from that not seeing too much of what we're gonna do – we are always working long-term, that's the big thing, on targets."

It all depends how ready he is and the amount of first team football the lad has played, so far would suggest not much.
But the fee was paid a while back, why not play him after it was paid, it's a weird logic that only you seem to think.
I think it's far more likely we are taking him to allow him to aclimatise and get used to the club, seeing as he's not being used by Atalanta and they wanted to loan him out anyway.

Was the fee paid? I don't think it was. An agreement was reached for a deal in January, assuming passport and work permit can be secured. We haven't paid for a player that we don't know if we can actually 100‰ secure a work permit for. And why wouldn't Atlanta want to protect an agreement that has the potential to be their biggest ever received transfer fee?
That's not weird logic to me, it's common sense. If he actually signs for us in January and then goes on loan to Atlanta, I fully expect him to play more. Why would they even bother trying to get him back on loan if they didn't want to play him?

He’s 18. Correct me if I’m wrong but if we send him on loan to Atalanta, he will not be qualified as home grown by the time he’s 21

If Atalanta didn't want to risk playing him in case of injury then why did they bring him on as a sub twice this season? He’s still training with them every day and being picked in match day squads, he’s just not being played, like he wasn’t last season.

I would guess that Diallo will go straight to the U23s and have some time acclimatising there.

Yeh I think he will send a couple of months there same as Pellistri has. Do you think Pellistri will get a shot at the first team soon?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FA Cup and possibly EL off the bench depending on who we draw and how we’re doing maybe.
Ole will want to have a look at how he handles himself I think.

He's played a total of 35 minutes football this season. That's not much of a risk is it really? The fact/story that they want him on loan for the remainder of the season suggests they would use him more once a deal is completed and their money is safe. Otherwise why even ask to loan him back?

He has barely played for Atalanta from what I've seen so I don't see the benefit of loaning him back.

Just out of interest, if they haven't been playing him while he was their player, why would they want to take him on loan now he isn't?
Has he suddenly got much better?

Because he won't be their player anymore. And therefore if he suffers a serious injury it won't jeopardise their largest fee received

Then why did he hardly play last season? Why did they want to loan him to Parma? Why did they put him on the subs bench most games this season and not use him? Playing him any minutes is still a risk going by your logic.

He was 17 last year. He's now obviously a year older. And yes it is a risk playing him off the bench for a few minutes. But not as much of a risk as playing him regularly.
