Great to finally have a little optimism and positivity back this season.
We have Newcastle in the FA Cup up next - time for that much needed "Saka needs a rest" moment. Let's put the likes of Eddie, Willock & Nelson in the shop window, to try and secure them a loan, while also giving Auba a chance to find some form. Maybe we'll see Partey get some minutes?
After that it's back to serious business.
Crystal Palace & Newcastle in the league are must wins if we want to go anywhere this season.
Two winnable games followed by a daunting run through to March:
Southampton (9th)
Man United (2nd)
Wolves (13th)
Villa (7th)
Leeds (14th)
Man City (8th)
Leicester (4th)
That's as tough a run with how this season has been going. If we can go into those games with momentum then who knows what is possible - amazing on the back of 2019.
Saka, ESR & Martinelli need to feature in the starting XI. Laca & Tierney are stepping up and Mari has been fantastic. Let's hope Arteta backs these guys and we can go from strength to strength.

The thought of Willian stating ahead of Nelson in the cup annoys me. Somehow he’s been a worse signing than the £72m Bebe

If we keep up this form (and if Arteta keeps starting the same players), its not a stretch to say we could win 6 of those games. That would be a great return from that list of fixtures.

Honestly we need to bin Willian. Only use him in extreme circumstances. Give Europa League guys the run in FA cup as well

Briefly against Sheffield United when he moved more centrally. Recall us actually improving when he did too. How much of that being down to him I can’t say though.

If Willian has a good game against Newcastle I wouldn't be surprised if Arteta drops ESR and puts Willian back in.

sure, it would be worth seeing if he can at least play back up to ESR then... and if he actually replaced ESR in the premier league XI that would suck, unless he has an absolute worldy next weekend and scores a double-hattrick

his first few contributions were poor when he came on, but after that he played a nice through ball to Laca and put in a decent cross too... I really hope he can build up some decent form for us as given his contract length, age and salary we're stuck with him for the next 2.5 years
