I’ll be the first to admit I’m not his biggest fan but fair play to the guy..... he was excellent last night.
The one thing that I’ve noticed of late is that the weakest position in the team seems to be the 3rd attacking role alongside Kane & Sonny. While I appreciate the defensive cover offered by both Moura & Bergwijn.... neither are offering a thing going forward. At present our best creators of goals are the top 2, Both FBs (Not Davies) and NDombele.
With some easier fixtures coming up I’d like Jose to be a little bit less pragmatic, would love to see us dictate games with far more of the ball.
We all appreciate the physical nature of sissoko’s game and his ability to track runners is excellent, esp against the better teams but last night he was far more aggressive and we benefitted as a result
Would love to see Sissoko given less of a defensive role (PEH has that covered) and a bit more intelligence from whoever gets the role alongside Kane & Son
Would love to see us go with something like this once we have a rest and get the FA Cup out the way
***************Hugo****************
**Aurier**Toby**Dier***Reggie****
*************PEH***************
**Sissoko***NDombele****Dele****
**************Kane**********
***************Son**************
It’s a bit a “Diamond" formation but there’s some serious muscle in the spine of the team and should allow both FB’s to push well forward where they are best and allows the likes of Kane, Son, Dele & NDombele in to interchange positions.
For as solid have recent results have been, the structure of the current system is not getting the best from Moura or Bergwijn...... Both are having such limited impact on games...... I find it hard to believe either are justifying a place over a massively underutilized Dele
Thoughts???
Credit where it due....... Sissoko

Bergwijn missed only 1 sitter, the other 2 were hard chances

I would stick with Bergwijn for now. Yes he has missed some sitters but as long he keeps on getting in those positions he will surely bag some goals. Plus he understands his defensive duties.
He is more productive than Moura and faster than Dele too. I prefer to have pace either side of Kane especially as we are a counter attacking team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My point being... we don’t ALWAYS need to be a counter attacking team..... Truth is Moira & Bergwijn are just poor versions of Sonny. Moira has been living of the Ajax game for 18 months and I still dont think we really needed Bergwijn (He looks like one of those stupid signings we had a habit of making over the past couple of years (age and price being right rather than actually making the team better).... The contrast with PEH & Reggie is massive
TBH if the club were smart I’d get Eriksen back, listen to offers for Moura & Lamela (over Dele) & if GLC can’t get his shot together he might be out the door in the summer........ We have been critical of Ndombele but fair play to him he’s got his act together in terms of form and fitness....... I think GLC is getting a pass (turning into Lamela mk2)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stevie B has been with us for about a year now. He will come good. He should be afforded the same patience as Ndombele imo.
As for getting Eriksen back it is not a priority position. Couldn't care less about him. A new CB and a DM to take the load of PEH and to eventually replace Sissoko or Winks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s your view on GLC...... u are obviously more patient that me
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think be could be brilliant for us but his injuries are becoming frustrating. I'd prefer to wait until the end of the season to give a proper verdict but he is better than Winks and offers good competition to Ndombele in the CAM when he is fit. I like the fact he can play in a number of positions so is a keeper for now.

Bergwijn or Moura

Yes Bergwijn absolutely offers more going forward than sissoko, a header against a championship side doesn't change the fact that he's terrible with the ball

Sissoko is a good squad player if used correctly in the correct matches (which Jose has done recently tbf) getting on now so even if he was better than he was we'd still need to be looking at better coming in to replace him from being a first teamer.
Hopefully Winks carries on playing well and improves game on game.

Thoughts?
Sissoko is damned good attacking midfielder.
Ndombele is showing more fitness and becoming a key player for us.
Gotta rest Kane & Son....don't want to lose them to injuries in silly matches that the reserves should win.
Must use Bale more...... why have we not seen him lately?
Moura needs to get his mojo back. Tries hard, but not good enough of late.
Aurier or Doherty? God only knows!
Will Lloris be off to PSG...and if so who comes in?
What gives with Alli? Is he off too?
So.....there are some thoughts....
