I'm British. I live in Germany. I'm a socialist. The US Democratic Party is roughly equal to the Conservatives circa 2010. Lmao.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Socialist... makes perfect sense now. Keep revealing more to help us understand your twisted views now 😅
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tell me more how it's a better system to pay twice as much per capita for a healthcare system that has people refusing to call an ambulance because of the cost even when they have life-threatening injuries.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its not as simplistic as your opinion makes it out to be unfortunately. There are many negatives of a Socialist system but of course you would think its perfect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It really is that simplistic. The USA fails to respect human rights with its healthcare system. I did a mini-dissertation on it, in fact.

Socialism isn't perfect, and needs tempering, but imagine relying on a growth system (capitalism) in a world with climate change and, ideally, no underclass being stolen from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Socialism has failed spectacularly throughout history, many socialist states now dissolved. So its strange to think opinion holds more substance than actual reality. History has shown it mostly fails, so its hard to argue it is better than Capitalism under which most countries have thrived. But ignore reality or evidence if you wish.

Capitalism has helped destroy the planet, and breed division and extreme poverty.

‘Thrived’ depends what side of the fence you’re on, and how bothered you are by consequence, I guess.

Well yes, like I've been saying its mostly matter of a opinion. But people like to see things in extremes either its bad or its good, either they're right or you're wrong. There are pros and cons.

But Humans are naturally competitive so it could be said captialism is deeply rooted in our nature. Even if we all started out in the same position, someone will finish first and someone will finish last, thats life, its quite the opposite of socialism.

It would make sense if we settled on some democratic socialism instead wouldn't it?

No privatised monopoly, trickle up economic focus and capitalism for every non essential service.

Yeah well Socialism stifles innovation and the motivation of the more gifted people to innovate, if everyone (even the lazy or less gifted) gets the same rewards then why bother. We probably wouldn't be here sharing opinions on this forum if it was up to Socialism

If you take any ideology or dogma to an extreme it doesn't end up working for everyone

Pure Socialism where state owns all industry and we're all the same blah blah obviously wouldn't work but the stage of capitalism that we're in now isn't for for purpose either.

Nobody has benefitted from the pandemic more than billionaires who had the assets and agency to see their wealth grow exponentially.
