The likes of Owen and Lineker telling us that strikers are entitled to go down is not helping.

A challenge either knocks you over or it doesn't. It really is that simple.

There is something in the mindset of most strikers, even the ones i play with/against in an over 40's weekly roll-up/friendly Vets league. They dont like contact, they fall over easily, have a low pain threshold and yelp as they hit the deck....even 50 year old fathers of 4 As a defender this mindset does not compute with me.

Lineker and Owen were going down under little pressure or contact decades ago.

It's so odd isn't it - I was always taught not to show pain as it shows weakness, on the pitch I mean.

There are people on this forum who genuinely believe it is a player's right to decide they have been fouled and throw themselves to the floor to help the referee notice. It's bizarre.

SO true. And the commentators are just as bad...Kane is "so clever" at earning free kicks according to pundits but the average fan, even Spurs fans, just find it an awful blight on the game.

Kane is one of the biggest cheating baaastards there is. He’s an utter disgrace, but to a lesser degree so are our on rashford, the Liverpool pair, etc. I hate this part of the game, and england as a team are chock full of diving cheats, hence why we get so many pens.

To be fair, I'm 52 and just trying to get on my feet in the mornings draws a few winces.
