A shocking discovery by yours truly; Liverpool are more reliant on penalties to pick up points than their joint top rivals, Man Utd.
Take away Liverpool penalties this season and they would lose a whopping 7 points.
Take away Man Utd penalties and they would lose just 6 points.
The news will come as a surprise to Liverpool fans and manager, who have incorrectly convinced themselves that Man Utd rely on penalties to pick up points.
It also further reinforces the view that Man Utd have indeed overtaken Liverpool as the best club in the league right now, and that when Liverpool's luck with refereeing decisions runs out, United will come out as clear winners in the title race.
That is unless this benefit that Liverpool are enjoying is down to bias and/or corruption?
Not for me to say, but it's a worrying trend and one that we should keep our eye on.
