Moises Caicedo - generational talent

As you know, I'm an avid follower of Ecuadorian youth football, and can confirm that Moises Caicedo is the Real Deal (a conclusion I dare say you can also draw if you watch a short compilation of his Skills and Goals on YouTube).

Lots of chatter linking us with him, a fee of around £5m, and his desperation to come to United as a huge supporter of the club. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes through, in light of the evident new policy of hoovering up international talent in the 16-19 age bracket.

He looks dynamic, tenacious, athletic and technically accomplished. Someone who will win the ball and look for a quick progressive pass. Impossible to say whether he has the quality we need or to know how he would settle in the north west of the Plague Island. But it will be really interesting to watch the progress of this generation of youngsters we've acquired in the Solskjaer era, and whether they can create a significant net improvement in our squad relative to previous recruitment strategies. If only two or three of them become first team mainstays (meaning we don't have to spend big money on as many positions) that will have a significant impact.

There’s going to be quite a lot of young South Americans coming to England now, because of the new work permit rules.

Having seen his YouTube videos, I can confirm he is the box to box midfielder we need, never mistimes a tackle, 100% passing accuracy and scores with every shot. Probably the best player in the world to be honest.

He’ll hate it if we get involved. Doesn’t have a problem with South Americans in general, in fairness.

To be fair, since returning SE85 seems to have toned down his South American aversion. My theory is that he had a steamy romance while on a working holiday in Maracaibo scouting youth footballers.

So Sky Sports say we’ve decided against signing him now, but he remains a target for Brighton.
