Chorley 2 - 0 Derby County U18s*

Victory Park
Duke Street
Chorley
PR7 3DU

12.15pm January 9th 2021 for Ang and Heb (1215)

10.15am (same date) for Dixie and Ken (1015)

1.15pm for (same date) for Cat (1315)

After a tumultuous week for all, Chorley are feeling the pressure before a tricky home game to Leamington on Tuesday. Before that they have the distraction of a cup game against Derby County.

Derby are not without their own tumultions - with virtually the whole team wiped out by the virus, I actually applaud their intention not to postpone (and possibly forfeit) the match.

Playing the youngsters - U23s and U18s - is a fascinating direction to take which could end in glory or abject crushing of confidence. Here I bow to the superlative knowledge of the kids to Ang (and Vidal) who have one job and one job only - namely to predict a team sheet for the game and to let us know who they are, what they are and whether they are good prospects for the future.

Chorley:-
Highest league finish: 17th in the Football Conference (1988/89)
Highest attendance at Victory Park: 9,679 (1923/24 FA Cup vs Darwen)

Some amazing historical stuff about Chorley on their website - they apparently started off as a rugby club before switching to soccer. Their nickname is The Magpies which isn't very original due to a certain Notts County being formed some 30 years previously.

Team news from the safeguarding officer, Pat Lyons:-

Yates
Bardell
Williams
Solomon
Jinkinson
Bateman
Aghatise
Thompson
Duncan
Hutchinson (c)
Cresswell

Subs:- Sykes-Kenworthy, Ebosele, Ibrahim, Cybulski, Thompson, Rogers, Rutt, Christie.

That you’re going back on the sauce because you can’t stand yourself sober?

No you are mistaken Vidal, it's you I can't stand sober, but then you very rarely are. No announcement forthcoming, I know I received a message yesterday from DCFC saying this would happen.

I think it is just that a radio pundit has said he would be a good choice for them when they ditch Lennon.

Spart is now “receiving messages from DCFC”. Might be time to get an extra layer of tinfoil in that hat.

Manager but as I have alluded to, it was just 'idle' talk - can see the logic though if you look at the H uns with Stevie G who has been very successful for them. England international, legend etc etc...
