Wolves v Everton match preview

Date: Tuesday 12th January
Kick off: 20.15
Venue: Molineux

Having got the FA cup weekend out of the way we can get back to the serious business of competing for Premier League points. On Tuesday Wolves welcome Everton for their showdown under the lights of Molineux.

Wolves’ results of late have been disappointing to say the least but having had up to 6 senior first team players out with injuries, only to be expected.
Nuno has had to call on his younger players to pick up the baton and to be fair to them they have all worked hard and despite their inexperience at this level, have shown real promise for the future. The squad has recently been bolstered by the addition of Patrick Cutrone and Morgan Gibbs-White, both of whom have been recalled from loan. Another encouraging development is the return of midfielder Leander Dendonker having recovered from injury.

Everton started the season with 7 wins in 7 games in all competitions but have since gone through a sticky patch in October/November, gaining only 4 points from 6 games. They have had a return to form in December with 13 points from 6 games. They come into this game on the back of a 1-0 home loss to West Ham.

Everton are currently 7th in the table with 29 points. Wolves are in 13th place with 22 points.

In the last four meetings between the two sides there have been 16 goals scored with two wins for Wolves, one for Everton and one draw.
Wolves have only lost once to Everton at Molineux in the last 45 years.

Nuno fielded a strong side for the FA Cup game against Crystal Palace on Friday evening. By contrast, Carlo Ancelotti fielded a much changed side for Everton’s FA Cup game with Championship side Rotherham on Saturday.
The advantage Ancelotti gains by resting key players will be partly offset by Wolves’ advantage of an extra days rest.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League/Arena

Oskar Burr is the latest one off to our Swiss dumping ground. Wonder if their coach gets a say in all this?

Agree oldgold Brian Little was very unlucky to be sacked and not many thought Graham Turner was a good appointment. And I’m sure nobody thought that a centre forward and a left back signed from Albion reserves were going to help much. We’d spent a few years thinking it couldn’t get any worse, and the result at Chorley was certainly the worst and thankfully the last of those days

A nostalgic trip down memory lane, thankfully we live to tell the tale....all we need now is a good old story from the Molineux Hotel

That was then, now is now. It should represent a great opportunity to get to a winnable 5th round tie.

Sad to hear that sol bamba, a good old school centre half, has cancer.

20.15 is an unusual kickoff time. Why can't it just be 8pm?

It's to accommodate the TV companies because of the earlier game at 6pm
