Genuine Title Challengers

I'm not breaking records by saying Liverpool and City were once again expected to set a tremendous pace.

But looking at the table and considering the external factors that are looking like continuing indefinitely - namely the absent crowds - I think we may have a genuine multi-horse title race.

And it is an open book.

United are up there. Scored the (EDIT - Hafi again) most points since the arrival of Bruno and about to conquer the summit - if the game in hand goes to plan. A potential challenger.

City are on the way up. If games in hand go as expected they can sit behind the leaders by one. Don't need to mention the manager's experience. Challengers, I'm sure.

Liverpool can expect an upturn in fortune. And look out if they do. Thiago back and Van Dijk will happen soon, and they're right on pace anyway, even if they are in third gear. Hopefully, for the rest of the league, they don't go on an obscene winning run we've seen before. Certain challengers, regardless.

Tottenham can never be written off due to their manager. It cannot be questioned that this guy has a gift. And now he is not the only gift as he has a plethora of talent at his disposal. Particularly up front. With a bit of luck and a January signing, I cannot see a reason Tottenham couldn't do a Leicester.

Leicester can also do a Leicester, even though they are slightly under the radar. A squad that threw away 3rd last year will surely not be as generous this year. I think with the previous disappointment and not losing (m)any players since, they cannot be discounted.

So that's 5. At this stage.

Between ARS, SOT, EVE and CHE I reckon they could muster a challenge between them, so let's call them the collective 6th contender.

With all games in hand won, as expected (Hafi) then there'll be 4 points separating the top five and 7 the top six. Nearly half way through.

European commitments, piled up schedules, unusual circumstances.

Can anyone above really rule themselves out?

Just seen this in the OP. Everton, Southampton and Arsenal won't mount a title challenge, outsiders for top 4 at the best imo. Soton just don't have the squad or resources, but they are a good side to watch. Chelsea will need a quick upturn in form as well.

If Greatteams was desperate for an argument he’d reply to you, Winston.

He's scared of Winston

Not surprised. I heard Winston worked at Guantanamo Bay once upon a time. Prisoners were known to prefer waterboarding to arguing with him over semantics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah, it wasn't his fault.

no they really shouldn't have LOL

If you actually watched the game you would say yeah they had a couple of chances but they were dominated unitl they crack with that deflected salah goal and honeslty it was a lack of concentration and a lot of knokcing it about looking cool rather than going for the jugular that lead to their break away goal.

they offered nothing at all second half and really while a draw might be something to debate your comment is designed to stoke up a spurs lfc fight (which i think you know will happen without much effort)

utd fans know that we have not played well but they should not underestimate 8 days prep time compared to utd having to play again this midweek.

It will have a little impact no question.

The bigger impact will be LFC form and softness at the back.
